Its most unique characteristic is that it causes the host's endorphin emitters to go into overdrive, flooding the brain with morphine-like chemicals. Then the host is compelled to share that all consuming bliss with others. Thanatos compels them. It's a mechanism to ensure the survival of the species. And so it multiplies, on and on. “	Honestly, is what I've done so bad? You know, life holds nothing but pain for most people. Thanatos releases them from that. It gives them bliss instead! Ecstasy and peace in death, or agony in life. Hardly a choice, is it? Drudging through each day doesn't earn you anything. It's pathetic. Laughable, even. In my line, I've seen more unhappy people than I can count. You just don't understand.	„

DD is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Tetsuo Nikaido) of Yakuza: Dead Souls. He is an arm dealer and the creator of Thanatos.

What Makes Him Pure Evil ?

• He created Thanatos, a virus changing people into zombies.
• He allied with Tetsuo Nikaido to spread the virus across Kamurucho.
• After Nikaido shot Hayashi for being too suspicious, DD infected him with Thanatos, causing him to change into zombie.
  • As a result, Hayashi would spread the infection to all Kamurucho.
• He betrayed Nikaido by infecting him with Thanotos before killing him, causing him to come back as a zombie and try to kill Kiryu and Goda.
• Unlike Nikaido who cares for Goda and did everything for revenge for what happened to him. DD does not care for anyone and is only motivated by his nihilistic views that that life is made of suffering.
