Every 23rd Spring, for 23 days, it gets to... eat.
~ Jezelle Gay Hartman about The Creeper.

The Creeper is the main antagonist of the Jeepers Creepers horror film series and a short run of the tie-in comic books.

It was portrayed by Jonathan Breck.

What Makes It Pure Evil?[]

  • While it is unclear if it has to eat people and replace its body-parts every 23 years to stay alive, the Creeper nevertheless proves incredibly sadistic. It often smiles evilly and has a sign reading "House of pain" over its lair. It also has a torture chamber where it has its victims flayed alive and turned into macabre art to decorate its lair. It even uses parts from its victims like teeth, bones, and bellybuttons to fashion weaponry and decorate it.
  • The comics show that it is fully sapient and capable of speech, though it never speaks around humans for some reason. This means it has enough intelligence to understand right from wrong.
    • What's even worst is in a deleted scene for the first film, after it killed the old cat lady, the creature actually makes a sick joke to Darry about how she doesn't smell good-all the while sporting a sadistic smile.
  • The comics show that when it eats its victims, their souls are absorbed into its body, preventing them from passing on.
  • It kills many people it does not even want for their parts simply out of sadism.
  • It spends time terrifying its victims before eating them, as it is stated that it likes to make them feel fear as it wets its appetite.
  • Some of the Creeper's preserved victims in its lair were children, and it is seen carrying away a child in the opening of the second film. It eats the child offscreen.
  • At the end of the first film, it pretends to agree when Trish offers to let the Creeper kill her if it spares her brother Darry, but ultimately refuses and takes him anyway, likely just to hurt her.
  • Besides killing Darry for his eyes, the Creeper also stuffs his body and uses it as a trophy. It’s also implied he raped him as Darry is undressed.
    • It should be noted that he doesn't just simply rip out Darry's eyes (which is bad enough), but the state of the body shows that the Creeper opted to instead burrow right through the back of Darry's head in order to get to the eyes and remove them, which caused even more unnecessary agony and torture.
  • At the beginning of the second film, the Creeper abducts a young boy named Billy Taggart in front of his older brother Jack “Jacky” Taggart Jr., his father, Jack Taggart Sr. and their dog Mac, later murdering him.
  • In the second film, the Creeper attacks a bus in search of one victim, and is fully willing to kill every student on the bus just to get the one target. But the Creeper failed to kill it’s target thanks to Jack’s homemade harpoon.
  • In the third film, the Creeper destroys vehicles and kills many people with its truck.
  • As stated, the comics reveal that the Creeper once slaughtered an entire colony and inadvertently but without guilt wiped out an entire civilization.
