~ Principles of Crawford, set by Oberson.

Crawford Oberson is a major antagonist in the first season of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead video game series.

He was the dictatorial leader of a small survivor province in Savannah, Georgia called "Crawford", who lead it with his Darwinistic belief, which would end up causing the downfall of his community.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • While he may have seemed like a stable and effective leader of Crawford district who truly had the best intentions for his people through his methods and survival tactics, he became drunk on power and his own authority and quickly became a ruthless ruler, and believed in “survival of the fittest” and decided to cut out loose weight.
  • He mass exiled and executed the elderly, children under 14, mentally disabled and the sick in order to not become weak, these include Molly’s sister and the cancer patients inc. Vernon and Brie.
    • A high amount of these people were impaled to death, turned into walkers and piled up as mass corpses to have the district of Crawford barricaded and effectively cut off from the rest of the chaos in Savannah and the world.
    • He has one of, if not the highest kill count of the whole game and comic series, even if most of them being by proxy.
  • He enforced abortions on pregnant women so they wouldn’t be useless, which would have eventually lead to the downfall of Crawford, after a woman named Anna mass killed a bunch of people in Crawford to escape from there for almost having her child aborted.
  • He ordered looting all of the supplies around Savannah to make his own community resourceful.
  • He is arguably the worst and most heinous villain in the video game and comic series for his Darwinistic beliefs which ended in the deaths of countless children, sick and elderly people, with many on screen effects being shown. This makes his tyranny unique compared to the Governor, Negan, Alpha, Carver, Joan and Lilly considering how he lead to massive amounts of deaths of innocent people. He also stands out considering his actions take place early in the apocalypse.
  • While he never makes a physical appearance within the series, his characterization is expanded enough with posters about his philosophy and characters such as Vernon and Molly describing him as power hungry and paranoid in general.
