The Conspirators are the central antagonists of the Near Future Chapter in Live A Live. As their name implies, they are the conspirators among Japanese leadership who plot to awaken Odeo by sacrificing two thousand liquefacted humans to him in hopes that he'll absorb all of humanity into himself.

In Japanese, General Yamazaki, Doctor Livingstill, and Priest Unryu were voiced by Tesshō Genda (who also voiced Emperor Ganishka and VIRM), Ryūsei Nakao (who also voiced Frieza, Cooler and Lucemon), and Shigeru Chiba (who also voiced Kefka Palazzo, J. Geil and Wyald) respectively. In English, they were voiced by Mark Lee, Mark Ota, and Dai Tabuchi respectively.

What Makes Them Pure Evil?[]

  • They plan to liquify 2000 humans to revive Odeo and have him assimilate all of humanity into itself. As shown by Akira reading their minds, the liquified victims are fully aware and conscious of their current state, and their thoughts are that of agony over losing their bodies and being reduced to their current helpless states, silently begging for help. To their ends, they used the government's resources and authority to achieve their goals: Doctor Livingstill liquified his own research team, except for Doc Tobei who escaped before they could liquify him next, while General Yamazaki took control of the Crusader gang and had them kidnapped thousands of innocent people, including children (as shown by how Crusaders tried to kidnap Kazu from the Bright Sparks orphanage), before they forcibly liquify them to revive Odeo.
  • One of their liquified victims was Kozo Watanabe, father of Watanabe from the orphanage, whom they put into a LH Combat Unit W1, with him being fully conscious and aware of his own actions, yet unable to disobey their orders. When Akira, Taroimo and the Lawless confronted them, they ordered Watanabe to kill them against his own will, with his last words being him begging for Akira to take care of his son in the orphanage before LH Combat Unit W1 explodes.
  • When Akira and the Lawless uncover their conspiracy, General Yamazaki ordered the Crusaders to burn down the orphanage. While majority of the staff have managed to escape, Akira's ill sister Kaori was still trapped inside, and if not for Lawless activating the Steel Titan and rescuing them in time, they would've died inside of the burning building.
  • When Akira takes control of the Steel Titan and heads for the Odeo Temple, Yamazaki sends the massive bulk of Japanese Army to stop him, not caring for casualties on his side.
  • From what is seen of their interactions, there is nothing indicating they care for each other, considering each other business partners with a common goal, and their mutual loyalty to Odeo is also shown to be purely superficial and driven by fanaticism, rather than by genuine loyalty.
  • Despite their claims that they're planning to revive Odeo and liquify all of humanity for the sake of humanity's rebirth, the fact that they're shown to be objecting to being absorbed into a lake of liquified humans and begging to be saved shows that they are nothing more but a bunch of insane hypocrites who wish to bring an end to humanity purely for the sake of their delusional ideals, rather than desire to create a better world, and they're willing to do so only for so long as they don't suffer from it.
  • Even though Odeo is the main antagonist of the Near Future Chapter (and the game as Odio), the Conspirators are the main threat for the majority of the chapter, with Odeo himself only fighting after being awakened by them.
