Conrad is a major antagonist in the dark fantasy manga/anime series Berserk. He is one of the five members of the God Hand, and he spends most of his time spreading plague and disease throughout the world using rodents and other animals.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

  • At some point in the past, he chose to sacrifice hundreds of his loved ones in order to become a member of the God Hand, presumably having them devoured by Apostles and sending their souls to the Abyss.
  • As a member of the God Hand, he helps spread misery and chaos throughout the world by turning humans into Apostles to indulge in their darkest desires.
  • During the Eclipse, Conrad uses his powers to create the tower which would serve as Griffith's rebirth chamber, separating Griffith from Guts and allowing the other God Hand the opportunity to corrupt Griffith and convince him to sacrifice the Band of Hawk.
  • Conrad holds no affection or value towards his Apostles, given how neither he or any of the other God Hand view Guts as a threat despite him having killed several Apostles.
  • Along with the other God Hand members, Conrad attempts to convince The Count to sacrifice Theresia to rejuvenate himself.
  • He spends his time spreading plague and disease throughout the world.
  • He controls the rat population to cause a plague epidemic through Midland, killing several people and forcing the survivors to flee to Albion, all in preparation for the Incarnation Ceremony. As a result, all of the refugees forced into camps by Conrad's plague are all killed, their souls serving as fuel for Femto's rebirth into the human world.
