What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Actively participated in Stalin's repressions. Particularly, he was involved in Katyn Shoot, repressions against soldiers of Red Army during WW2 and suppression of the uprising in GDR.
- He also was involved in suppression of Hungarian Uprising of 1956.
- Bombed Russia just to give one of his nukes a "test drive".
- He made it similar to American ones. Due of this, Khrushchev gave USA few days to prove that they weren’t responsible for this and threatened to nuke it if they wouldn't.
- The US Government chose to blame the bombing of Russia on their agent, Joy, a.k.a Boss and used Naked Snake to execute her. It makes Volgin responsible for Naked Snake becoming Big Boss and many more bad things that happened in series.
- He made it similar to American ones. Due of this, Khrushchev gave USA few days to prove that they weren’t responsible for this and threatened to nuke it if they wouldn't.
- Tortures and kills people, sometimes even his own henchmen, purely for fun.
- Rapes and abuses his "lover" Tatyana, who is actually Eva in disguise.
- Even though he is in a relationship with Raikov, and was even upset when he was attcked/killed, he most likely doesn't really love him and probably just views him as his property, and his reaction to Raikov being hurt could easliy be attributed to an attack on his pride rather than someone he truly cares about.
- Attempted to overthrow the Soviet Union.
- While he claims that his goal to control the Eastern Block is so he can reunite the Philosophers, who’d been warring among themselves, thus ending the Cold War, that just makes him a delusional fanatic at best, especially considering, that his plan's success could throw the entire world into a storm of violent uprisings and war.
- While he was resurrected and brainwashed into the Man on Fire, this does not prevent him from qualifying as he was already extremely evil before being brainwashed.
Trivia[]
- Volgin is one of two Metal Gear villains to be Pure Evil, alongside Sundowner, since most of characters in franchise are morally ambiguous.
