“ | Sheeta: Who are you, Muska? Muska: Yes, my dear. I too have an old, secret name. My real name is Romuska Palo Ur Laputa. You and I have the same royal ancestors. We are both of noble blood, but our ancestors left Laputa to live on Earth. What a mistake. |

Colonel Muska (real name: Romuska Palo Ur Laputa) is the main antagonist of the 1986 animated Studio Ghibli film Castle in the Sky. He is a government agent who wishes to find and control the lost city of Laputa, in order to take power over it and rule the world. He is also Sheeta's distant relative and Pazu's arch-nemesis.
He was voiced by the late Minori Terada in the original Japanese, the late Jeff Winkless in the 1989 English dub, and Mark Hamill in the English Disney version, who also played the Trickster in the 1990 The Flash show and the 2014 The Flash show, the Joker in the DC Animated Universe and the Arkham games, the alternate Hobgoblin in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Malefor in The Legend of Spyro, Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Maltruant in Ben 10: Omniverse.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He kidnapped Sheeta.
- He threatened to kill Pazu if Sheeta didn't do what he wanted.
- He dropped General Muoro and many members of the military to their deaths once he took control of Laputa, as well as previously leaving his fellow government agents to fall to their deaths by reconstructing the castle while they're stuck outside the interior of the castle. He then took control of the robots there to shoot down the Airship Goliath and get rid of any survivors who initially got away.
- He wanted to use Laputa and its destructive power to conquer the world.
- It is heavily implied that he planned to use Sheeta to restart the Laputian royal family, showing he has no qualms about child rape.
- He shot Sheeta's pigtails off, and threatened to do the same to her ears if she didn't obey him.
- He blatantly threatened to outright murder both Sheeta and Pazu if they didn't surrender the amulet to him.
Trivia[]
- Colonel Muska is considered to be the evilest, most ruthless and depraved villain from the Studio Ghibli filmography.
- Colonel Muska and Lord Cob are the only two Studio Ghibli villains so far who are considered Pure Evil.
- He serves as one of the two main antagonists (along with Lord Cob) in a Hayao Miyazaki or Studio Ghibi film to be Pure Evil, due to the fact that their films are not usually being bound to a simple good vs. evil storyline and Miyazaki disliking Pure Evil villains.
