~ Johnson taunting Swagger. |
Colonel Isaac Johnson is the secondary antagonist of the 2007 action film Shooter. He is a corrupt U.S. Army Colonel who works for senator Charles Meachum.
He was portrayed by Danny Glover, who also played Bob Goodall in Switchback.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Prior to the film, Johnson led a secret operation of slaughtering the townspeople in a village of Eritrea, because a pipeline was about to be built on the location and the residents refused to leave.
- Recruited Bob Lee Swagger into helping the mission of scouting the president's speech in Philadelphia, while having his assassin Mikhaylo Sczerbiak target the president. After Swagger was told to capture Sczerbiak, he has corrupt police officer Timmons to kill him, though failed.
- Although the assassin missed the president and accidentally killed the Archbishop of Ethiopia, the Archbishop was the real target as he wanted to tell the president about the massacre committed by Johnson's troops in Eritrea three years ago.
- During Agent Memphis' investigation on Johnson's incident, he tried to have him killed after he learned of Swaggers innocence.
- After his men found out about the connection of Swagger and Sarah, Johnson sent one of them to Sarah's home, where he rapes and kidnaps Sarah.
- Planned to use Sczerbiak as a bait to attract Swagger, which indirectly causes his suicide after being interrogated by Swagger about the intel on Meachum and Johnson.
- After Swagger arranged a meeting with Johnson and Meachum, he has Swagger arrested by incriminating him for the murder of the archbishop.
- When Swagger is proven innocent, Johnson states that this doesn't prove his guilt. He and his men are then presented with images from the mass grave in Eritrea. Despite the evidence being shown, they can not arrest Johnson because the crime is outside of American jurisdiction. Johnson leaves the room, taunting Swagger that he still wins.
- That night, when Johnson, Meachum and their associates celebrating of their success, Meachum then tells Johnson about a new task in Ecuador, where he will once again slaughter locals who interfere with Meachum's plans.
- His partnership with Meachum is merely professional. Due to the fact that Meachum clearly didn't care about him as he shows no mourning or concern after Johnson is killed right in front of him, it's very likely Johnson likewise also didn't hold any care for partner.
