Chikou is a minor antagonist in the manga Yu Yu Hakusho, being a major antagonist of the Epilogue chapters. He is the father of Mukuro, and is later revealed as an incestuous, depraved slaver who sexually abused Mukuro from the day she was born to satisfy his desires.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Surgically modified Mukuro's body in order to make her more fun to rape.
- Raped Mukuro every time she reached her birthday, starting on the day she was actually born, leading to her burning herself with acid so that he would stop.
- After Mukuro burns her body, he simply throws her out.
- Just to make sure she wouldn't try to kill him later on, he planted false memories of happier times in Mukuro's head, showing that he never really cared for her.
- While his ultimate fate of being bonded with a plant that would heal any wounds he received unless his neck was cut off so he would be tortured by Mukuro was quite brutal, it's played for satisfaction due to how evil he's shown himself to be.
- Despite the high heinous standards of Yu Yu Hakusho, he still stands out due to having fewer resources than the other villains, along with his personal villainy towards Mukuro, as well as being the only shown rapist in the series.
Trivia[]
- Chikou is one of the four Yu Yu Hakusho villains to qualify as purely evil, with the others being Rando, Elder Toguro and Gonzo Tarukane.
- He had to be toned down for the anime adaption, due to his original characterization being considered too graphic to fully adapt, hence why he has the mature template in a series that is overall for teen audience, and is the only complete monster who is a confirmed rapist. However, it could be possible that Elder Toguro may have been one, as he showed total inconsiderate disrespect to his brother on how he wanted to have sex with Genkai.
