Chaser is one of the main antagonists of Verse 2 of the Roblox game Deepwoken.
The apprentice of the Second Prophet of The Ministry, Chaser infiltrates the Divers in order to rise through their ranks, before killing the expeditions he was placed in charge of so he may claim the power of New Kyrsa for himself.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He betrayed the well meaning Divers, practically the only unambiguously good faction in Deepwoken, joined the Ministry, a contrastingly unambiguously evil organization that is willing to cause omnicide to allow their leaders to reach godhood, with many of their attempts failing but still costing thousands of lives, all for more power.
- During his apprenticeship under the Second Prophet, he murdered an individual(s) to use their blood to craft the Flareblood Kamas.
- He took an Oath with the prophet, allowing him to manipulate blood, which requires harvesting from others.
- Volunteered to lead an expedition to the Eternal Gale, but when there, killed all twenty of those there.
- One Diver gets trapped in New Kyrsa, losing their mind while being hunted by the Kyrsgarde.
- He pretended to follow up expeditions that nothing was amiss, so that more would be sent down and he could kill more people.
- He refused to give food to the second and third groups, leading to them starving.
- One Diver goes so mad from hunger that he attempts to eat the parasitic snow of the Eternal Gale, leading to the eggs hatching in his stomach and agonisingly burrowing their way out, killing him.
- He refused to allow them to rest with the Ignition Union base, despite them having food, warmth and lanterns that could remove the eggs from their skin.
- A group of Divers, fed up with Chaser's treatment, fled to the Union base. In the process, many lost their lives to the creatures that roamed the Second Layer. The group were ultimately shut out by the Union, then getting ambushed and murdered by Chaser.
- He murdered an Ignition Union Deepdelver, who had nothing to do with Chaser's plans and was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Having successfully slaughtered enough Divers, he took the Resonance bells of those who had them as trophies, in order to show off his kills.
- He hung up their corpses on meat hooks and mutilated them, in order to ensure they bled. Their was so much blood in the air that the Cathedral of Ethiron is filled with a permanent red mist as a result.
- He collected their blood in jars as fuel for his Oath.
- Encountering an adventurer sent by Klaris after him, he tells them in a mocking tone that his team, suspended on meat hooks and bleeding out, had attempted to mutiny and kill him, as though insulting their intellect.
- He attempts to kill them mid-conversation, mocking them in the process.
- His relationship with the Ministry and the Second Prophet is never expanded upon, with it being implied he only cares about power and getting stronger, seeing them as a means to do so.
- He has lower resources compared to the Ministry Prophets and Duke Erisia, but uses them to kill as many Divers as possible.
Trivia[]
- There was originally going to be a questline that would explore how Chaser got his abilities and his time with the Second Prophet. Had this been released, it may have affected his status.
- He and Ethiron are the only Deepwoken villains to be Pure Evil.
