What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Transformed his deceased father's meat-packing factory into a death maze in 2006, before ordering his friend Steven Foster to lure victims into his death maze, targeting vagrants and prostitutes.
- The total number of confirmed victims would be atleast 63 (later 64) people.
- Upon learning in 2007 that Detective Cal McGee received a commendation from the city for apparently dealing with the vagrancy issue, he sent Cal an anonymous letter, telling him that he didn't deserve the credit.
- This, along with McGee noticing the disappearing vagrants, would lead him to contact the BAU and ultimately lead them into investigating Charles.
- Tortured and butchered a elderly homeless man named Nate, despite him begging for his life. In addition, he was later shown to have filmed this, as Maggie would find a film reel of Nate's murder being played.
- After Steven brings him a new victim in Maggie, he has her placed in the death maze and gives her two hours to escape, all while she has to endure the death maze's traps, such as the crushed glass room and a feral Doberman. Even then, Charles would close the door on Maggie and drug her to prevent her escape just as she reached the exit, before strapping her to a table to prepare to kill her.
- Despite the BAU and SWAT surrounding him and ordering him to drop his knife, Charles refuses, yelling for them to "let him do his job", before attempting to stab Maggie, leading to Morgan, Hotchner and Prentiss gunning him down.
- While he apparently gives his victims a chance to escape, as shown with Maggie, he ultimately subverts this at the last moment by closing the factory door on his victims, before drugging them to be prepared for their death.
- Despite his father passing away, nothing indicates whether Charles cared for him at all. Additionally, he was revealed to have bullied and intimidated Steven into assisting him with his crimes, subverting any chance of a genuine friendship.
- Furthermore, nothing is shown as to whether or not Charles also cares for the feral Doberman that Maggie encountered in the death maze.
- In spite of the high Heinous Standards for Criminal Minds, Charles manages to standout due to his status as a one-shot villain, as well as his high kill count from a rather unique method.
