Chaka is a supporting antagonist in the anime/manga series Black Lagoon, appearing during the Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise arc. He is a sadistically violent Yakuza who wished to fight with Revy, as he was searching for a strong opponent.
He is voiced by Wataru Takagi in the Japanese version of the anime and Jonathan Holmes in the English dubbed version. The former also voiced Jan Valentine in Hellsing Ultimate and Jagi in the Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Is introduced verbally abusing a woman over the phone by insulting her and threatening her with violence for having interrupted him during a meeting between the Washimine clan and Hotel Moscow.
- Repeatedly abuses Rock, including calling him homophobic slurs, for having dared "interrupt" his conversation with Revy.
- Tries to challenge Revy to a duel, only for the latter to refuse.
- Despite wanting to die by Revy's hands, Revy refuses to kill him, after she sees how much of a degenerate he is. She instead leaves him at the mercy of Ginji Matsuzaki (Yukio's bodyguard), who has every reason to kill him for what he did to his mistress Yukio.
- Chaka's actions are so horrible that the staunchly pacificistic Rock retaliates by hitting him on the head with a bowling pin, showing how disgusted he is with Chaka's actions.
- His persistent interest in Revy and soft spot for her are nothing more than a desire to find a strong opponent for him to fight with, not genuine care for her.
- He is so horrible that nobody likes him.
- His death, brutal as it is, is played for pure karmic satisfaction.
- He tries to take over the Washimine Clan for himself, with it being implied that he also murdered Yukon Washimine’s father in order to do so.
- Kidnaps Yukio Washimine, strips her, and threatens to sell her to a coprophiliac pimp.
- When his own thugs see how vile and incompetent he is, they turn against him. Chaka in turn kills them, much to Revy's disgust.
- All in all, had it not been for his actions, Hotel Moscow would not have been able to easily establish a foothold on the Japanese criminal underworld by taking advantage of the rift between the Washimine and Kousa clans. His actions also result in the downfall of the Washimine and Kousa clans.
- He's the only character is this series to not be portrayed as sympathetic.
