Come on!
~ John Ryder encouraging Jim Halsey to run him over, also his last words
I'd like to think that the last thing that went through his head—other than that bullet—was how the hell Andy Dufresne ever got the best of him.
~ Red discussing Samuel Norton's suicide.

Villains who desire, want or are willing to commit suicide for many reasons. In the case of villains falling under Pure Evil, suicide is often a selfish option for them, whether it be a villain taking their own life to escape from justice at the last minute or a villain bringing down others with them in a last ditch effort to kill off their enemies. (E.g: Andross blowing himself up in the end of Star Fox Adventure to kill off both Fox McCloud and Falco Lombardi and Frank Horrigan attempting to blow up the oil rig in the end of Fallout 2 to kill off the Chosen One and his allies.)

Villains who accidentally killed themselves (e.g. Archibald Snatcher, William Afton, Norman Stansfield and General Mandible) do not count.

Examples are: Samuel Norton, Sal, Cell, Adam Taurus, Owlman, Isaac Ray Peram Westcott, and Avon Hertz.

This is common for Nihilists, however they can also be Cowards if they take their own lives as a way to escape a situation they know they don’t have control over (e.g. Samuel Norton).

Villains who took their own lives CANNOT be Karma Houdinis, even if they took their lives to escape punishment or attempted to do so (e.g. Samuel Norton and Sir Benedict Cumbersnatch), unless they have failed in their suicide attempt and get away with impunity.
