Pure Evils who not only enjoy pain, but need it either to survive or as a coping mechanism both on themselves AND other people. Despite enjoying inflicting pain, they are not sadists, because sadists like to hurt others, but not being hurt themselves.

Examples are:

• The Joker, who enjoys getting brutally punched by Batman numerous times.
• Freddy Krueger, who likes to mutilate himself and was actually amused by his abusive father beating him with a belt.
• Lucas Baker, who pulls out his own fingernails with a pair of pliers just to show Ethan that he loves his superpowers and also enjoys the painful experience of turning into a molded.
• Bill Cipher, who takes every opportunity to hurt himself in Dipper’s body, like slapping himself, pouring soda into his eyes, and slamming his arms into a closing cupboard, even calling pain hilarious.
• Enmu, who thanks Muzan for attempting to kill him before getting injected with his blood and writhing on the floor in pleasure.
• Peter Stegman, who bangs his head against the mirror, paper dispenser and bathroom sink to frame Andy Norris, while smiling.
• Isaac Ray Peram Westcott, who often hurts people he loves because he loves hurting himself.
• Micah Bell, who laughs when Dutch shoots him in the climax, compliments Arthur for slashing his eye in one ending, outright laughs when Javier punches him in the face, and calls sleep "overrated" during camp conversations.
• Victor Zsasz, who carves one tally mark onto his body for each of his kills.
• Lonnie Machin, who developed a creepy obsession towards Thea after she nearly burned him alive which left a permanent scar on his face.
• William Lewis, who laughs when burning his own fingertips off on the stove, and cheers Benson on when she starts kicking the back of his knees while he's tied to the bed.
