On the first night of the full moon, I will hunt down every islander still in our lands and flay them living the way I flayed the twenty Ironborn scum I found at Winterfell. In the box you'll find a special gift: Theon's favorite toy. He cried when I took it away from him. Leave the North now or more boxes will follow with more Theon.
~ Ramsay Bolton's letter to Balon Greyjoy, where he threatens to skin more Ironborn invaders alive and reveals that he emasculated Theon Greyjoy.

Mutilators are villains who inflict severe long-term injuries and/or disfigurements. They do not always kill others but scar and/or disfigure them. They are often a subtype of Torturers, though not all forms of mutilation start out as torture. Also counts Pure Evils that did not directly mutilate, but intentionaly left someone in a situation that left them mutilated..

Because said injuries are often disturbing (e.g. slit mouths, disfigured faces, severed limbs, etc.), mutilators are commonly found in the horror, exploitation and/or thriller genres.
