Pure Evil Egotists, also known as Narcissists, are villains who have excessive importance of themselves and their own life experiences. This category includes villains who show no selfishness but have done horrible deeds for minimal reasons. Their polar opposites are Selfless heroes.
Ego is a great and exact definition of what a Pure Evil egotist is, not only because of his name alone, but he also made it clear that he is a big one due to the fact that he overvalues his own life and doesn't care about anybody else's, hence why he put the tumor in his wife and ate all of his children for not inheriting his Celestial Gene. Other common examples of Pure Evil Egotists include General Dreykov and Maltruant.
Notes[]
- Despite Pure Evils being completely devoid of altruism and care only about themselves and their own goals, not all Pure Evils are egotists by default as some may just qualify by crossing the heinous standards without showing signs of narcissistic self-imagery.
- It should also be noted that some Pure Evils can hide a kind self-loathing behind their narcissistic image of themselves (e.g. Ozai, Patrick Bateman, Judge Claude Frollo and Junko Enoshima). However this should never be a play by sympathy by the narration otherwise it would remove them fo their Pure Evils status.
- Cowards will often fall under this category because they too can care about nobody but themselves.
- Egotists can only be nihilists if they think life is useless just because they think their life is useless first (e.g. Contagion, Mephiles the Dark, most versions of Joker), unless they are hypocritical about this mindset and overlap with the cowards category (e.g. Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear). These are the villains with the mindset of "If I can't be happy, no one can."
