Contradictory Villains are either an extreme opposite of a normally friendly career, creature or even race, are false promisers in a sense, or are surprisingly more menacing despite whatever silly or harmless-sounding name they possess or even their appearance alone.

The common themes for this type of villain include but are not limited to: evil clowns, evil Santas, killer toys, evil puppets, evil fairies, evil angels, Light Beings, dwarves (NOT to be confused for those who suffer from dwarfism), and elves. This can also qualify to people who dress up as heroes or things that are normally supposed to represent more positive experiences such as innocence, friendship and protection donning a darker and sometimes controversial theme than what is normally expected of them.

It can also apply to figures traditionally seen as "good" or "pure" in many societies - such as members of clergy, police officers or traditional hero figures.

Contradictory Pure Evil villains can be very unsettling, as they commit crimes in the form of something commonly seen as benevolent.

Good examples of these villains include Khan Maykr (an angel), Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear (a teddy bear), Spring Bonnie (a rabbit based costume character), Frank Tenpenny (a police officer), the Joker (a clown), and Fav (a cute robot fairy).
