Captain McManus is the secondary antagonist of the 2018 sci-fi thriller film, The Darkest Minds.
He was portrayed by Wade Williams.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He oversees the camps where psis are imprisoned, having captured them for Clancy Gray. There, he enslaves and sadistically abuses the psi children.
- He murders the psi children who are deemed dangerous or problematic (ie: Orange), as shown by one being beaten to death.
- He breaks the Reds into being vicious killers for him.
- He bullies Ruby Daly and forces her to be compliant, taking sadistic pleasure in making her life miserable.
- When Sam, one of the psis speaks out against him, he has her taken away to be killed.
- He threatens Catherine “Cate” Connor with her life when she initially refuses to give away Ruby’s identity.
- He has Dr. Viceroy, who misdiagnosed Ruby, brutally murdered by being burned alive by the Reds.
- He tracks down Ruby, Liam, Chubs, and Zu after their escape and goes to the East River Refugee Camp to recapture them, taunting them upon surrounding them with his men.
- When Clancy asks him to take over beating Liam for him, he gleefully does so and continues to sadistically beat Liam.
