Naoko Yamamoto, better known as Calamity Mary, is a major antagonist in the anime and manga Magical Girl Raising Project. In the anime, she was voiced by Kikuko Inoue in Japanese and Mikaela Krantz in English.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Before she became a Magical Girl, Naoko was an abusive drunk who abused her daughter until her husband found out and divorced her, taking their daughter with him.
- Instead of helping people in trouble, she assisted the criminal underworld in taking rival gangs down.
- While mentoring other magical girls, she threatened any mistakes with a shooting.
- She gained a resentment for Ripple and tried to gun her and Top Speed down when Ripple became Top Speed's student.
- She never cared for Magicaloid 44 as anything more than a servant, threatening her with death if she betrayed her. When Magicaloid 44 was killed by Hardgore Alice, Calamity Mary was upset solely because she thought having her minion killed would make her look bad.
- She lured Top Speed and Ripple to a hotel to try and kill them, mocking that she'd kill more people when she killed Ripple
- Although no magical girls ever die at her hands, she has easily the highest body count of any magical girl. She is also the only magical girl to attack innocent civilians for the sake of it.
- She has no redeeming or sympathetic traits and cares only about her ego and her addiction to alcohol.
