Brainiac was intended to be the main antagonist of Superman Lives, a cancelled reboot of the Superman film franchise developed in the late 1990s following the disaster of the 1987 critically panned Superman IV: The Quest of Peace.
He would have been an alien android like his comic book counterpart that would have fight against Superman. Unfortunately, the project didn't materialize and a Superman movie remained in development hell for years until the release of Superman Returns in 2006.
He was intended to be portrayed by either Jason Lee, Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, or Christopher Walken.
What makes him Pure Evil?[]
- Lied to the Council, not even caring that all Kryptonians would die as a result of the planet's destruction.
- Attempted to get into the ShadowCaster technology.
- Attempted to have Jor-El be administered a thorough psychological evaluation.
- Attempted to have Kal-El, who was just an infant at the time, killed.
- Attempted to coerce the Eradicator into surrendering to him in exchange for Kal-El being spared.
- Even though he wanted to know about Superman from Lex Luthor, he only did so for pragmatic reasons, and not actually caring about Lex himself.
- Unleashed Doomsday on Metropolis, not even caring about who gets hurt or killed.
- Blocked out the sun, rendering Superman powerless.
- Incinerated Doomsday, not even caring that he is dead.
- Desires to become a god after getting ahold of the Eradicator.
- Feigned grief over the death of Superman.
- Feigned honor of Superman's memory with the sole intent of winning over the Metropolis citizens.
- Attempted to destroy Earth, causing the deaths of billions of people.
- Tried to forcefully remove the Eradicator from Superman.
- Attempted to have Superman lured and killed.
- Attempted to enslave everyone on Earth.
- Attempted to kill Lois Lane for rebelling against him.
- Threatened to force himself onto Lois Lane if Superman doesn't surrender the Eradicator technology.
- Attempted to kill a resurrected Superman.
Trivia[]
- This is one of many versions of Brainiac to be Pure Evil.
- Much like his Injustice counterpart, Brainiac is responsible for Krypton's destruction.
