Wow! If I had known that these ponies were more compatible with me instead of all these mindless forest animals, I would never have lost in such a sad way. I need even more food. Now that I can control them.
~ Bora marvels at the possibility of successfully infecting Equestrians after infecting Golden Harvest.

Spike: Wait! What happened to you?
Bora the Invader: What do you mean, "me"? What do you mean, me?
Spike: I read a book about you. The ponies in it defeated you. How come you came back?
Bora the Invader: Oh, you mean that. The ponies you speak of never defeated me. I only had one unfortunate encounter with a dangerous creature.
Spike: A dangerous creature? Even more dangerous than you?
Bora the Invader: A strange rooster with the body of a dragon. That coward turned me to stone before I could attack him. Because of that, my children couldn't communicate with me. Little by little, they were destroyed until only I was left. I don't know how much time passed, but considering how much Ponyville Village has advanced, I'd guess it was decades. Now that I remember it clearly, I realized that this pony was the one responsible for my return. Oddly enough, she was the only one who managed to defeat that dragon cock, which freed me too. It's a pity I didn't realize it earlier. I would have let her live. After that, all I had to do was wait for the opportunity to assimilate another body. And as luck would have it, the scared rabbit hid right where I hid. That was until a little foal found me. And now here we are. In any case, I have to go.
~ Bora explains to Spike the reason for his return.

Bora the Invader is the titular main antagonist of the fan animation My little Parasite by IgumiiArt.

He is the only worm of his kind that has the ability to adapt by absorbing various organic matter. He was one of the first living beings in Equestria capable of parthenogenesis, obtained as a result of the "Medicine Worm" project, gaining the ability to inhabit and control the bodies of living beings, and using them as a refuge for himself. He is responsible for the mass infestation of the population of Equestria and the lands beyond with representatives of his kind, in an effort to become the only dominant living organism in the entire world.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • While it can be argued that he has some degree of a tragic past: he was experimented on, starved and force-fed a joke plant to produce slime to create potions with adaptive abilities like his own, and that it was because of these experiments that he eventually became a brutal predator forced to find a way to survive by eating the flesh of living beings. He also hoped to keep himself alive by spreading his own species throughout the world so as not to let himself be forced into a situation of constant struggle for survival again, but in the end his Freudian justification does not hold water for the following reasons:
    1. Even when Zinder, the village leader who experimented on him, freed him from captivity and released him into the wild, deeming the experiment a failure, Bora himself decided to find an alternative way to improve his adaptive abilities in order to spread throughout the world and become the only dominant living organism. Notably, he showed no gratitude or remorse for killing and infecting Zinder, even though Zinder partially saved his life from starvation, ultimately forcing the zebra population to disperse across Equestria out of fear of infection by the virus.
    2. Almost all of the victims he kills and/or infects have absolutely nothing to do with his tragedy, most often killing and/or infecting them out of pure sadism and a sense of superiority over them.
    3. To sum up all of the above, we can say that his actions are influenced not by his past, but by his psychopathy, narcissism, sadism, egoism and the absence of any humanity in general.
  • Despite his ultimate goal being to spread his species throughout Equestria and beyond, this does not make him at all well-intentioned towards his species, for the reason that he sees them all as nothing more than a means to continue his dominance over other living organisms at best, and useful pawns at worst, which does not make him an extremist with good intentions towards his own kind. His concern for them has never reached the point where he hesitates to send any of them to their deaths at the hands of heroes, let alone come to their aid when they are in danger.
    • What makes him even worse in this situation is that absolutely all of his species are effectively and biologically his children.
  • While it can be argued that he has issues with moral agency due to being a worm forced to feed on living organisms to survive, and that the experiments he was subjected to are what made him what he is, this does not excuse him for several reasons:
    1. While he does need to eat living creatures to survive and spread his species, he is later shown to kill and/or infect out of pure sadism and a desire to dominate others, rather than simply for sustenance.
    2. While a large percentage of all infected become violent and devoid of their original personality, being completely subjugated by the worms, and although some retain the memory of their past and some degree of moral agency (though they are all eventually deprived of it due to the effects of the infection), Bora himself from beginning to end retains complete control over himself and sobriety of mind after assimilating any living creature he encounters, although he still experiences a craving for flesh.
    3. Although it is said that all infected have the principle of a collective mind, but in practice this collective mind is expressed in the fact that Bora can simply transmit information to his species about this or that enemy en masse to fight him, and vice versa. It is also worth noting that all infected, although they have a common desire to infect living beings, all of them, to one degree or another, have the ability to act independently and perform various independent actions, which proves that Bora is the original worm, possessing unconditional moral free will, and the only thing that connects him with representatives of his species is the ability to transfer memory to himself from his infected, and vice versa.
  • Overall, Bora is responsible for all the tragic events that have occurred throughout the entirety of My Little Parasite, easily surpassing the story's Heinous Standards by having the most murders in Equestria and beyond. While it can be argued that he is not as powerful as, say, Discord, he is still able to stand out due to his resources, which he utilizes to the fullest extent.

Past[]

  • Released by Zinder after the latter deemed his experiments with Bora a failure, he developed an alternate adaptation ability by consuming and/or infecting dozens of animals in the forest. While he still feels the need to feed on living creatures, he continued to kill others for entirely different reasons, most of which were rather petty and malicious, and completely unrelated to his needs.
  • He indirectly infected Zinder with one of his own kind that he found, which led to all the zebras, after defeating the infected Zinder, being forced to scatter across Equestria, due to fears of being infected as well, and due to ignorance of how to combat the virus, although Zinder himself partially saved Bora's life, sparing him from starvation.
  • After Bora became skilled enough in assimilating and infecting other organisms, he eventually came to believe himself to be the most perfect living being, vowing to spread his species across the planet, wanting to eliminate all other life forms that he considered inferior to himself. This led to him mass-producing his species, turning innocent inhabitants of the Everfree Forest into Infected or simply killing them, feeling no remorse or regret for his actions in order to demonstrate his superiority over others.
  • He attempted to invade Ponyville in an attempt to infect the local population, but was forced to retreat when the local unicorns defended Ponyville with a wall of fire, killing most of the infected.
  • He attempted to assimilate a cockatrice, but was turned to stone by it, which led to the death of all other members of Bora's species, something Bora never regretted.
  • While it remains unclear exactly when Bora gained full self-awareness, becoming a sadistic and superiority-obsessed psychopath, this is fully compensated for by his final personality, which expresses a complete understanding of the difference between good and evil, as he himself is primarily motivated by the desire to control all organic life forms in the world, out of pure sadism and a narcissistic sense of superiority over everyone, and not due to possible cruel experiments by Zinder.

My Little Parasite: The Friendship Corrupted[]

  • After Fluttershy forced the cockatrice to free all of her friends from petrification, the latter accidentally freed Bora from captivity in the process, who then assimilated a rabbit nearby, and then began waiting for the opportunity to assimilate larger organisms.
  • While he did mention that if he had known from the start that Fluttershy was indirectly responsible for his release, he would have spared her life, he mentioned it in just one short sentence, and never after that mentioned or showed any gratitude to her for his release, caring about her only as the most effective tool for achieving his goals. Furthermore, given that Bora has never shown any signs of nobility or any other positive standards towards other living beings throughout history, it can be safely said that he wanted to keep Fluttershy alive only to prolong her already obvious death at the hands of other infected, or at his own, which he ultimately did, showing no gratitude, nor sincere remorse for the brutal act of murder towards his indirect liberator.
  • He infected Gummy the alligator, Angel the rabbit, several chickens, and Harry the bear, just to successfully get to Fluttershy and assimilate her, making her his primary host, which he succeeded in doing.
  • While he asked Rarity to keep Sweetie Belle's infection a secret, he did so because he did not want the Alicorn Princesses to become suspicious too early due to the panic among the Equestrian populace.
  • He lured Golden Harvest to Fluttershy's house and brutally murdered her by infecting her. While he was annoyed that he had only used animals as infected all this time, this was only due to the joyful prospect of infecting Equestrians, showing no signs of regret or remorse for killing his previous victims.
  • Although he did not kill Spike and slowed down his infection process, he did so only out of pragmatism, as he did not want to let Spike's murder raise too many suspicions and wanted to use him as a useful pawn for his plans. Before that, he managed to temporarily restore Fluttershy's personality simply to mock Spike and prevent him from using fire on him, after which he successfully infected him.
  • He smirked sadistically behind Twilight's back when she said that it was good that Fluttershy didn't see the infected Sweetie Belle, knowing how sensitive Fluttershy was, before hypocritically lying to Twilight that he didn't see the infected Sweetie Belle, because he didn't want to upset Rarity with the disappointing diagnosis regarding her sister, although in fact Bora was extremely pleased that the process of infecting Equestrians, as exemplified by Sweetie Belle, was going extremely well.
  • While he was shocked and angry that Twilight used a fire spell on the infected Sweetie Belle, killing her in the process, it was nothing more than anger that Twilight had found a way to fight the infected and him (as he had not yet fully upgraded his host to be immune to fire at the time) without showing any concern or regret at the death of one of his kind.
  • He sent an infected Golden Harvest to kill and infect Zecora, as one of the most dangerous threats to his plans in the first stage.
  • Using verbal manipulation with Applejack, he infiltrated her farm, killing and/or infecting everyone living there:
    • He infected Winona simply out of petty spite for being the first of the Apple family to realize that Bora was under Fluttershy's guise.
    • He scared Granny Smith to the point of a heart attack, killing her. And although he did not infect her (though it is possible that he or his infected could have done so later), he did so only because she, already dead, posed no danger or value to him as a tool.
    • He killed and infected Apple Bloom in front of Applejack before infecting her as well.
    • he infected Big McIntosh using infected Applejack and Apple Bloom.
  • He infected Princess Cadance, and was responsible for her infecting all of Cloudsdale, where Fluttershy's parents were, and possibly Rainbow Dash's parents. He was also responsible for Rainbow Dash sacrificing herself by destroying herself and the infected pegasus with Sonic rainboom. He was also responsible for Twilight being forced to kill Cadance.
  • He unleashed the infected on Ponyville, being responsible for all the murders and infections that occurred there, one of which was the infection of Mayor Mare, who committed a massacre of children hiding in Pennyville City Hall.
  • He ordered an infected Harry to kill Twilight by biting off large chunks of her neck and legs, leaving Twilight on the brink of death, and she was forced to assume her fire form to stop the infection and her death.
  • When he realized that Big McIntosh retained moral agency due to his memories of Sugar Belle, Bora simply mockingly told Big McIntosh that after defeating him, he would infect Sugar Belle and bring Big McIntosh back into his service so that the two of them could murder their family.
  • He is responsible for infecting Pinkie Pie with an infected Applejack.
  • He is directly responsible for the breakdown of harmony in Equestria, which allowed Discord to break free from his stone prison.
  • He delivered two powerful blows to Twilight, breaking several of her bones and knocking her unconscious. Although he decided to temporarily delay her infection, he only did so because he was interested in fighting Celestia, Luna, and Discord. Additionally, the epilogue shows an infected Twilight engaging in battle with Celestia, Luna (who had resorted to transforming into their dark sides), and Discord, proving that he had succeeded in his goal.
  • He tore Big McIntosh to pieces with his bone blades, having mocked him before by showing him best memories of Sugar Belle.
  • Although he did not kill the infected and rebellious Spike, he only did so because he knew that Celestia would perceive him in this form as an enemy and kill him for him.
  • He infected lands outside of Equestria, including the Storm King's Island and Mount Aris.

Trivia[]

  • Considering that My Little Parasite creator IgumiiArt has already officially announced a sequel called My little Parasite: The Resistance, there is some chance that Bora's status as Pure Evil could change depending on how he is presented in the sequel.
