Bluebeard is the main antagonist of the episode "The Forbidden Room" of Sandra: The FairyTale Detective.
He was voiced by Lewis MacLeod, who also voiced The Entity in Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 3 and IG-88 in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He is a straight up serial killer that murdered his seven previous wives for seemingly no good reason other than likely for fun. Not to mention when Mary was shocked when she saw the corpses, she dropped the tiny key to the forbidden room which has his previous wives, and got covered in blood, meaning that it's implied he may have mutilated them too.
- Unlike any of the villains of the show, Bluebeard has no redeeming qualities and is taken completely seriously, and unlike his more famous original counterpart, this version isn't even polite and acts like a big jerk to Mary, even when he's hiding his true nature.
- Despite having two comedic moments like him getting locked in the flower shop and demands to be out, and his defeat of him getting scared by the ghosts of his previous wives (that were actually puppets made Sandra and Mary), but they don't detract his villainy, and is treated as a psychopathic, ruthless serial killer in a normally lighthearted childrens show.
- While he confessed to the authorities about his crimes, he only did so since he was very superstitious, and was scared, and not out of any remorse whatsoever.
- He tried to kill Mary when she found his secret, as well as Sandra (who's a child), and Fo for trying to put him to sleep.
- Despite how there are villains the series like Scolymus and the Black Beast, and the fairytale villains, he stood out thanks to lower resources as Scolymus is a shadow wraith, and is just a provoker of the heroes, and the Black Beast is a ancient creature and just a feral beast with no character and agency at all, and the other fairytale villain's crimes are simply too generic, meanwhile Bluebeard has the crime of serial murder and implied mutilation (which is never done in the show).
