Black Manta is a supporting antagonist in the DC Animated Movie Universe.

He was voiced by Harry Lennix.

What makes him Pure Evil?[]

  • Black Manta shows his cunning nature by manipulating Prince Orm into waging war against the surface world. He orchestrates a false flag operation to make it appear as though the surface world is attacking Atlantis. This not only serves his personal vendetta against Aquaman but also aligns with his goal of obtaining Atlantis’s treasure.
  • His manipulation of Orm exemplifies his ability to deceive and use others for his own gain, with no concern for the consequences of his actions.
  • Black Manta's entire strategy is based on lies and deceit. He gets involved with powerful figures, not out of loyalty but to further his own schemes. He actively betrays his allies when they no longer serve his purpose, which makes him unpredictable and dangerous.
  • His actions in Aquaman: King of Atlantis reveal that he’s always planning ahead, calculating how to turn situations to his advantage, even if it means using others as disposable tools.
  • Throughout his schemes, Black Manta shows no remorse for the destruction he causes or the people he harms. He kills without hesitation, uses people for his own benefit, and never expresses any guilt for his actions.
  • His disregard for life is showcased when he causes chaos and destruction simply for his personal gain, with no thought given to the lives that are affected by his actions.
  • Despite being portrayed as a man driven by a need for revenge for the death of his father, Black Manta’s cruelty extends to those closest to him. His willingness to betray even Orm, who is his primary ally in his plot, reveals his total lack of loyalty or respect for any personal bonds.
  • He isn’t bound by loyalty to anyone, and his alliances are merely tools to help him achieve his goals.
  • Black Manta enjoys causing pain and suffering, especially to those who cross him or become obstacles. He gets satisfaction from his enemies’ torment and revels in their misery, making him sadistic in nature.
  • His torture of Aquaman and his willingness to sacrifice others for his amusement further demonstrate his sadistic tendencies.
  • Black Manta is not only content with wreaking havoc on the surface world; he is willing to destroy Atlantis and its people to fulfill his desires. His quest for wealth, revenge, and power outweighs any sense of loyalty to his homeland or even the well-being of his people.
  • Black Manta is the embodiment of someone with no moral compass. He uses whatever means necessary, including mass destruction, betrayal, and violence, to get what he wants. His entire character is built on the principle of achieving personal goals at any cost, with no consideration for the consequences of his actions.
  • His evil is not just in his actions, but in his complete lack of hesitation to commit unspeakable acts, making him a truly dangerous character.
  • Even though there are high heinous standards with Darkseid destroying and conquering planet, he stands out with causing many deaths with less resources.
