Hello, villains! Black Hat here with more goods you need to destroy the heroes in your life!
~ Black Hat

Black Hat is the overarching protagonist of the Cartoon Network animated superhero comedy series Villainous.

He is an demonic semi-retired supervillain who is seemingly the embodiment of evil in every Cartoon Network media, by selling the dangerous weapons, traps, and other devices to much supervillains alike (notably Cartoon Network villains) in their respective universes in hopes of them trying to accomplish with their schemes (although in reality, most of the many villains have actually failed him). He is also the Boss of Dr. Flug, Demencia, and 5.0.5. whom he lives with and for the latter's to help along with his work.

He was voiced by the series' creator Alan Ituriel in both the original Spanish dub and the English dub.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • While he's made out of evil, it isn't elaborated on and nothing suggests he can't do good so he still has moral agency.
  • On top of being the central villain of his own series, he also happens to be the main antagonist of the entire Cartoon Network multiverse, meaning he's the one responsible for all of the horrible actions committed by villains in other CN shows, whether directly or indirectly.
  • He sells weapons, traps, and other material intended for malicious purposes to other villains and this makes him indirectly responsible for countless deaths in their respective series.
  • He is the boss of all the other villains in each Cartoon Network universe, and he won't hesitate to kill anyone who disappoints or displeases him. For instance, he juiced the Earl of Lemongrab simply because he was a poor excuse for a villain, and he fed Anti-Pops to a space monster because he was a pathetic case for an evil of entity, and for his redemption.
  • Whilst he supposedly respects Lich, a fellow pure evil villain, it is just him admiring the former's malevolence.
  • He consistently abuses his own minions, Dr. Flug, Demencia, and 5.0.5. throughout the series in ways that range from belittling them to threatening them with death. This especially applies to 5.0.5. due to his kind nature as opposed to the vicious monster he was meant to be when first created.
  • He uses his personalized Magisword to blow up an entire planet.
  • He owns and runs a camp where he literally turns children into villains.
  • He is the one responsible for Pops and Anti-Pops' deaths in Regular Show (albeit indirectly).
  • He overall has zero redeeming qualities to his character, as not only does he repeatedly commit truly heinous acts throughout the series, but he also takes great pride in them and his role as a supervillain.
  • While he starts out as ineffectual in the original shorts, he loses that quality from the orientation videos onwards.

Trivia[]

  • Black Hat is the only Villainous character to be (Silly) Pure Evil.
  • Given how he is responsible for nearly all of the villains' actions in Cartoon Network, it can be argued he is the most evil villain in all of Cartoon Network media, or at least the most influential and heinous.
