Benjamin "Ben" Childress is the main antagonist of the 1978 thriller film The Fury.
He was portrayed by the late John Cassavetes.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He runs a secret organization called the PSI where he kidnaps innocent children who are psychics and turns them into weapons for his program.
- He even kills the psychic children's families to ensure his plan succeeds.
- He tortures the children and conditions them to break down and leave nothing but psychic assassins for him.
- He appears as a true friend of Peter Sandza, but is in truth a devious sociopath as he staged a terrorist attack to have him killed and captures Peter's son, Robin Sandza.
- When he kidnapped Robin, he turns him into one of his weapons and succeeds in turning him into a psychopath.
- He tries to have Peter killed when he survives and tries to save his son.
- When he finds out about the teenage girl named Gillian Bellaver, with similar powers like Robin, he plans to gaslight her into his new weapon and even tries to manipulate her in the end.
- He shows absolutely no remorse for his actions.
