Bejo is the main antagonist of the 2014 Indonesian action movie The Raid 2: Berandal. He is an Arab crime lord active in Indonesia who conspires with corrupt police chief Reza to overthrow the dominant crime lords Bangun and Goto and take over Jakarta's criminal underworld.

He was portrayed by Alex Abbad.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

Prequel comic[]

  • In the prequel comics (canon to the movie timeline), prior to the events of The Raid 2 : Berandal,he ordered his hitmen ; Baseball Bat Man, Hammer Girl and The Assassin to kill some members of a SWAT team inside his club in a cold-blooded manner.
  • His influence within the criminal underworld and connections with the commisioner made Officer Teja fired from the Jakarta Police Department and had him arrested. Because of this, Teja was thrown into a prison full of ferocious criminal who abuses him everyday.
  • When he and his men had lunch and collecting the insurance money from a local restaurant, he threatened the owner by death just because his food tastes bad. He even said that "if it isn't, the last thing you'll ever cook will be your own eyeballs".
  • He mocked his father for still living in poverty and forced him to take his money, which he refused. He then killed his father by burning his house with his father in it.
  • He had his henchmen brutally murdered the entire kitchen staff in Hansamu Utomo's restaurant.
  • He whacked Hansamu's right-hand man by decapitating his head and showed the severed head to him.
  • He ordered Baseball Bat Man, Hammer Girl and The Assassin to burn down the prison where Officer Teja is arrested in order to kill him to prevent Teja turning states and reveal all of his crimes.

Film[]

  • Following the death of his associate Tama Riyadi, Bejo starts off his coup by having his right-hand man Andi kidnapped and executing him in a field.
  • In order to manipulate Bangun's son Uco, he calls him to a meeting and persuades him to brutally murder five captive gang members with a scalpel as revenge for trying to kill him during a prison riot. It is later revealed that they were working for Bejo, who ordered the hit on Uco and then had them killed for failing.
  • He has Bangun's trusted friend and ally Prakoso killed and frames the Yakuza in an attempt to provoke a gang war so he can take over Jakarta.
  • When Prakoso's death fails to provoke Bangun, Bejo orders the massacre of dozens of Yakuza members in needlessly brutal ways such as being pickaxed in the head, beaten to death with baseball bats and stabbed through the mouth with claw hammers and tries to frame Bangun.
  • When the massacre also fails to start a gang war, he leads an attack on Bangun's building and slaughters his men before forcing Uco to shoot his father dead and ordering the deaths of Rama and Eka.
  • He plots with Reza and Uco to wipe out the Yakuza and take over their part of the city.
  • When Rama attacks his meeting with Reza, he kills one of his own men with his reckless firing.
  • When shot in the leg and later in the throat by Uco, he slowly raises his hand at him as if he was gesturing the latter not to kill him. This implies that Bejo was a coward in his dying moments before Uco finished him off.
