~ Beaugarde Lesko's motivation to sell Blue Paradise. |
Beaugarde Lesko, also known as Bougart, is the main antagonist of the 1990 television series The Flash episode "Child's Play".
He is a drug dealer of Central City who was presumed dead years ago. In reality, Lesko faked his death and resurfaces years later with the Blue Paradise, a drug that makes people hallucinate and die if not consumed repeteadly, but when an interpid journalist discovers the truth about the Blue Paradise, Lesko resolves to silence him to keep running his deals.
He was portrayed by the late Jimmie F. Skaggs.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Distributes the Blue Paradise drug, a powerful hallucinogen that if not consumed repeteadly results in the consumer's death, all over Central City so he can control any consumers to do his bidding.
- All of Lesko's henchmen are shown to be addicted to Blue Paradise and the sole reason they work for him is to get more to prevent themselves from dying. Thus, Lesko essentially has them with no other options than to serve him.
- Has Phillip Sullivan killed by blowing up his car when he discovers about the Blue Paradise.
- Orders his girlfriend Pepper to kidnap the runaways Terry and Cory Cohan after Lesko becomes aware that Terry stole a stuffed toy animal for Cory in which Sullivan kept the evidence, though she fails.
- Sends two of his henchmen to kidnap Terry as he drives with Barry Allen through one street. After the Flash rescues Terry and sends his henchmen to the police station, Lesko's henchmen spend so much time without Blue Paradise that they go ballistic when Barry approaches them in their near-dead state and die there.
- Decides to drug Terry with Blue Paradise after he comes to his lair to bribe him with a disk containing all info about his drug in exchange of a million dollars for him and Cory, resolving that given how Terry has a backup copy inside Cory's stuffed toy animal, he just needs to addict Terry so he will retrieve it for him.
- There is no absolute guarantee that Beaugarde would've kept his word in giving Terry more Blue Paradise had he succeeded into addicting him.
- Plans to spread the Blue Paradise all over Central City in helicopters to make all the town subservient to him.
- Gasses the Flash with Blue Paradise to prevent him from catching him, with the Flash only getting rid of the Blue Paradise inside himself thanks to his speed powers.
- When Terry knocks Pepper out, Lesko doesn't show any kind of concern for his girlfriend, demonstrating that he doesn't really love her and most likely just had her as someone he could have sex with.
Trivia[]
- Beaugarde Lesko is, alongside Nicholas Pike, Dr. Carl Tanner and The Trickster, one of the four villains of the 1990 The Flash television show to be Pure Evil.
- Lesko and Tanner, however, are the only Pure Evils of the show to appear in one episode.
- It's implied that back in the 1960s, the Blue Paradise claimed several hippie lives as an explanation to how the authorities found out how dangerous was the hallucinogen enough to try to arrest Beaugarde Lesko. If this were confirmed, it would make Lesko even worse.
