Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, is the main villain of the Elseworlds comic, Catwoman: Guardian of Gotham.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- In stark contrast to his mainstream counterpart, this version of the Dark Knight is a malicious and sadistic serial killer.
- As a teenager, he murdered Selina's parents and stole all their belongings.
- In the present day, he murders most of his fellow criminals to eliminate competition, not out of well-intentioned extremism and/or a desire for justice.
- After breaking into Catwoman's lair and discovering that she's the wealthy heiress, Selina Kyle, he quickly makes a plan to kill two birds with one stone.
- In his public persona of Bruce Wayne, he seduces Selina and manipulates her into marrying him.
- After it is stolen in a scuffle with Catwoman, he ruthlessly injures thirteen cops to get his glove back. He also destroys the Cat Signal.
- A month after marrying Selina, he kills Selina's maid, Brooks (this universe's stand-in for Alfred). He then tries to kill Selina herself before she sounds the alarm.
- In his final moments he reveals himself to be a coward, begging for Catwoman to save him despite her attempting to kill him. He also reveals he killed her parents out of fear and spite.
- Any "feelings" he had for Selina were merely an act so he could get closer to her and kill her more easily. The later reveal that she's pregnant with his daughter only adds an extra level of nastiness to his attempted homicide.
- Because this comic is set in a different universe than the normal one (hence the name Elseworlds), he does not have to worry about the usual heinous standard.
- He does say something about having grown up in an orphanage and never known his parents, which indicates that (at least part of) the reason why he turned out like he did is because he didn't have a good parental figure in his life. However, this is not touched upon enough for him to be tragic.
