Baron Zebek is a minor antagonist in the second volume of the Alpha Flight series, serving as the main antagonist of the 2 part crossover with the Micronauts series. He is a fanatical tyrant that idolizes the ruthless dictatorship of Baron Karza and models himself after him, having already conquered Antica.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Is a madman who is fanatically idolizes Baron Karza for his bloodthirsty and sadistic nature, and seeks to become his successor and force all life in the Microverse under a harsh Karza-style reign of terror, having brought back staples of Karza's rule such as the gladiator games and the Body Banks.
- Has his army slaughter the local population of Antica and threaten them with genocide to have them submit to his rule as slave labor to be starved and tortured, all while gaslighting them into believing these are all benevolant and friendly actions.
- Hosts gladiator games in which he has the local population of Antica fight each other to the death simply for his amusement.
- Rebuilds the Body Banks where he has the population of Antica and other citizens suffering under his rule to be slowly torn apart part by part to replenish his body and all those of his choosing, having planned to wipe out the entire insectivorid race of Antica by sending them to the Body Banks.
- Develops the Quarkarion, a nuclear device that would wipe out billions all across several planets in one go, as a weapon for him to conquer the Microverse.
- After wiping out Antica, Zebek sought to expand his reign across the entire Microverse through means of genocide.
- When the Micronauts and Alpha Flight team up to stop him, having finally inspired the entire population of Antica to rise up against tyranny, Zebek proclaims they will all simply be fodder for the Body Banks to all those who accept his dictatorship.
- Has the Quarkarion launched to wipe out all life on Antica and billions more across nearby planets out of petty spite for the heroes crushing his psychotic dreams.
- Overall, Baron Zebek does an impressively heinous job bringing Karza's style of evil back into the Microverse despite only having a small fraction of Karza's resources and only appearing sparsely across 2 issues.
