Badger is the secondary antagonist of A New Frontier, the third season of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead video game series. He is a high-ranking member of the New Frontier and the second archenemy of Javier García.
He was voiced by Jon Curry.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Destroyed and raided communities while killing survivors under Joan's orders. Unlike the other bandits, Badger visibly enjoyed sadistically doing all of them.
- Shoots Mariana García -a ten-year-old girl- on the head in front of her uncle, stepmother and brother, and not caring she was also the daughter of his superior.
- Leads an assault on Javier, Gabe, Kate and Clementine, which causes Kate getting shot in the gut and almost killed.
- Holds Francine hostage in order to bring Javier down, and slices two of her fingers off if he refuses, which was not agreed by Max and the other soldiers. No matter if Javi surrenders or not, Badger murders Francine.
- Disobeys his colleague Max and orders a raider to ram Prescott's gate with a truck, unleashing the zombies inside it, causing a shootout and therefore numerous deaths with the ultimate destruction of the community. He takes visible delight at infesting settlements with zombies, even if he has nothing to gain from it.
- Admitted to secretly hating his boss David Garcia for a long time, and that he would've "shoved that gas can down Javier's throat and lit him up like a candle" if he knew he was David's brother.
- Feels no remorse for his crimes, even calling Mariana a "little bitch" and states that he would kill her again just to see her head pop.
- Before his death, he provokes Javier into listening to his brutal instincts and killing him. He also taunts Conrad (if alive) by saying that his girlfriend Francine, whom he killed, was nothing.
- While he states that he wants his dead friends back alive, this is nothing but hypocrisy and an effort of using the deaths of his colleagues as an excuse to go on a rampage within Richmond. Furthermore, and ironic enough, he caused his several colleagues' demises by ordering them to attack Richmond, which proves his claims are complete faux.
- Unlike mostly all the other villains, even Oberson, Carver, and Joan, who at least implied to have been good once and had some excuse, even if it was debased, Badger shows zero redeeming qualities or excuse for his actions.
Trivia[]
- According to a Telltale Staff Member, Alyssa Finlay, Badger was raised in a highly privileged life before the apocalypse, and grew into having a domineering and bullying personality from it.
