Atropos doesn't let people live.
~ Clotho/Charlie to Sarah Lance about her sister's homicidal tendency.

Atropos is a major antagonist in the TV series DC's Legends of Tomorrow, serving as an unseen antagonist in Season 4 and as the secondary antagonist of Season 5.

She is one of the legendary three Greek deities known as the Fates with her sisters Lachesis and Clotho/Charlie, always determining the lives of mortals by choosing when to cut the Loom of Fate's threads to end with their lives. However, after the Loom of Fate is stolen and shattered by a remoreseful Clotho, Atropos plots alongside Lachesis to reasemble the Loom and remove all free will from humanity.

She was portrayed by Joanna Vanderham. While impersonating John Constantine, she was portrayed by Matt Ryan.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • As one of the three Fates from the times of the ancient Greece, Atropos was in charge of "executing" all mortal lives with the Loom of Fate once Lachesis determined when all lives created by Clotho had to end. While one can say that all three Fates were following the law of life and death as everyone dies throughout life,
    • She sadistically enjoyed cutting the threads off, much to Clotho's horror. This gives her arguably one of the highest kill counts in the Arrowverse until Clotho opted to steal the Loom, shatter it across the Multiverse and allow humans to decide their own fates.
  • Tortured her own sister Clotho.
  • She and Lachesis attempt to find the Loom of Fate's scattered remains after the Crisis of 2019 merges all of the original Multiverse into a single reality known as Earth-Prime, thanks to Oliver Queen's sacrifice to stop the Anti-Monitor's threat, giving Atropos and Lachesis their powers back so they can plot to reassemble the Loom and strip all of existence from their free will.
  • Massacres all the attendees to the concert of the Smell, a punk rock band founded by Charlie (actually Clotho in her human disguise), only leaving one survivor whom she ends up killing by burning him to death from the inside out with her realm form after he tells her about Charlie's location.
  • Tracks down John Constantine to British Columbia as he looks after the second Loom of Fate's piece with the Jumpship, leading her to kill the Supernatural filming crew as they shot the show's fifteen season and brings them back to life as zombies later on to attack the Legends, who put them all out of commission. It should be speculated that because of this, Supernatural was cancelled in-universe thanks for the deaths of the filming crew and several creatives lost their jobs thanks to that.
  • Torments Charlie psychologically after destroying the Jumpship and blackmails her into accepting a meeting with her or otherwise she would kill her friends.
  • Attempts to brutally kill Constantine by stabbing him (only surviving because he had summoned some protection spells beforehand), disguising herself as him to trick Charlie and Sara Lance.
  • Reveals her disguise by apparently killing Sara with her zombies and assaulting Charlie, torturing her until she surrenders the second Loom of Fate's piece and then leaving her behind for dead, mocking her election to become a mortal.
  • Breaks into the Waverider when they arrive to save Charlie, John and Sara, forcing Behrad Tarazi to give her the first Loom of Fate's piece by threatening to kill his meditating sister Zari, immobilizing him with her powers after he tries to surprisingly attack her behind her back and then cutting off his life thread with him unable to do anything to save himself.
  • Outrageously engages Sara in a fight after she turns out to have survived seeing her true form.
  • Agrees with Lachesis to dispatch Astra Logue from Hell to the realm of the living so she can recover the whole Loom of Fate and strand the Legends in the United Kingdom.
  • Disables Gideon to tell Astra how to operate the Loom of Fate.
  • Tries to kill Astra after she turns back on their deal by stating some "conditions" they hadn't agreed with before.
  • Causes a zombie apocalypse over the entire United Kingdom to slow down the Legends, resulting in the deaths of all the Legends minus Gary Green, who swayed Astra to turn against Atropos and Lachesis.
  • Kills Gary for revealing the Loom's pieces.
  • Blackmails Charlie into helping her sisters on using the Loom of Fate on humanity to enslave all of them by promising to spare the Legends and trap them inside a TV show, arguably a fate worse than death.
  • The employ of the Loom of Fate by part of the three Fates results in the creation of Loomworld, a dystopia where all humans have anything but free will, are reduced to mere slaves who have to constantly praise their leaders, only eat mush and watch television propaganda of the Fates. Particularly, Atropos rises up to become Head of the Historical Sanitation Department, deleting all rebellion records from history to not incite humanity to rebel against their authority.
  • Ambushes Sara as she creates a distraction to allow John and Astra, the Legends having recovered their erased memories by this point, to destroy the Loom, fighting and besting Sara before John, Behrad and Zari defeat her by blasting Atropos into the Loom of Fate, destroying it and herself in the process.
