Asgore Dreemurr otherwise known as simply Asgore is the main antagonist of the Undertale fan-web comic Negativetale.
He is the ruthless, misanthropic leader of the monsters who, in his attempts to prepare the underground to wage war on humanity and take them over, has turned it into a cruel hierarchy where only the strong are allowed to live, while all those who are considered weak are killed. He ultimately serves as the final obstacle in Frisk's path from escaping back into the human world.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Lacks any of the redeeming qualities that his canon counterpart possesses, such as care for his children, and being a well-intentioned anti-villain. With him instead being portrayed only as a ruthless misanthrope seeking to dominate the human world and is more than willing to kill his own family if they fail him.
- Turned the underground into a hierarchy where only strong monsters are allowed to live, turning the entire monster species into cruel killers who are hellbent on slaughtering any human that enters the underground.
- Hired the egotistical Dr. Alphys to turn every monster in the underground into mindless killers, with him having her do this to Undyne, causing her to become an amoral killing machine.
- Holds events dedicated to weeding out monsters that are considered weak so that they can be slaughtered by Undyne in front of the entire underground.
- When Chara fell into the underground and acted as if they hate humans, he proceeded to take them under his wing before having them execute several weak-willed monsters,
- When Chara breaks down crying out of grief for killing innocents, Asgore kills them in a fit of rage and then forces his son Asriel to absorb their soul, cross the barrier, and kill six more humans on the surface.
- When Asriel fails at this goal and winds up being killed, Asgore, seemingly bringing him back as Flowey, becomes enraged once he realizes this and proceeds to put a bounty on his head, ordering to have him killed for his injustice.
- While he did wind up locking himself away after Toriel left him and Flowey fled, this is not out of care for them, nor is it out of grief, as he only did this out of shame for the fact that his own family failed him.
- Despite being married to Toriel at one point, their relationship is not given enough weight to be redeeming.
- When Frisk comes to confront him, he attempts to kill them so that he can finally break the barrier, having killed six humans already.
- When Flowey kills him and Frisk absorbs his soul, he attempts to possess them in one last bid to accomplish his goals, forcing a remorseful Flowey into having to kill them in order to save everybody else.
- He is easily the most heinous character in the entire web-comic, being the entire reason the underground has become a hellscape, killing countless of his own species and several humans, and lacking any redeeming qualities.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, this version of Asgore fits the misleading early descriptions of him from the original game given by Toriel. Being a ruthless human killer who rules the underground with an iron fist.
- As of now, this is the only version of Asgore to be considered Pure Evil.
- Him, alongside Alphys, are the only Negativetale characters to be approved as Pure Evil.
