~ Arktos taunting Tabaluga after freezing him.

Arktos is the main antagonist of the 2018 German computer-animated fantasy musical film Tabaluga: The Movie (released in America as Ice Princess Lily), based on the franchise of the same name. He is an evil snowman, the ruler of Iceland and the embodiment of Winter, who plots to kill the dragons of Greenland so he can conquer it as well. He is responsible for the genocide of almost all of the dragons, thus driving all of them to near-extinction with the exception of the last dragon, Tabaluga, which he is willing to kill him in order to complete his genocide and bring extinction to all of the dragons.

He was voiced by Heinz Hoenig in the German dub and Benedict Campbell for the English dub.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • Tried to conquer Greenland by turning it into a frozen wasteland to do so, while lying to his people with false rumors that the Greenlanders were savages in an attempt to get them to go to war just so he could slay the last dragon and conquer Greenland.
  • And while at first it may seem that he just wants complete genocide of dragons, he makes it clear that he takes great sadistic pleasure from exterminating them.
  • Although at first it may seem that he cares about his people and wants only prosperity and harmony for them, in reality they mean nothing to him other than as tools in his plans for world domination.
  • He shows absolutely no respect for his right-hand man Mirmel, and treats him like a pawn, scolding and beating him for any failure.
  • He did not care at all about his artificially created daughter, Lilli, regarding her only as a resource to achieve his goals of slaying the last dragon. He later directly and mockingly praises her for doing a perfect job in luring Tabaluga to Iceland.
  • Although he has a few comedic moments, such as his villainous song "Devil in White" or his defeat by shrinking himself, they do not detract from his villainy at all, as they are all outweighed by the crimes he commits throughout the film.

Past[]

  • He seized power and became the tyrannical ruler of Iceland.
  • More than dozens of dragons were killed during his reign, leaving only Tabaluga's parents, his father Tyrion, and his wife Mithia.
  • Successfully killed Tyrion and Mythia, leaving Tabaluga the last one of his kind.
  • Organized an almost complete and successful genocide on all dragons, thus driving all of the dragons to near-extinction with the exception of one.

Tabaluga: The Movie[]

  • He created an artificial daughter named Lilli to serve as bait for Tabaluga so that she would unknowingly lure Tabaluga to his death.
  • In an attempt to hide his true identity and kill Tabaluga most successfully, he pretended to be kind and compassionate and managed to trick the young dragon into thinking that he would help him find his fire, after which he leads him to a part of his castle, and reveals his true colors, directly showing him a crevice with dozens of frozen dragon corpses, causing Tabaluga to realize that he was responsible for the death of his parents.
  • After Arktos revealed his entire plan to kill him and that he used the ice princess Lilli as dragon bait, he froze Tabaluga and attempted to have him fall from a crevice.
  • When Arktos used his powers to pin Lilli to the wall, Tabaluga eventually allows the snowman to kill him so Lilli would be spared, but unfortunately Arktos instead decided to freeze her too, proving his lack of any honor, mercy or compassion. to everything that surrounds him.
  • In response to Lilly's statement that he is a monster, Arktos only mocks her, saying that she is the one who naively believes in the hope of salvation in the person of Tabaluga. He even orders her not to insult him too much, since he doesn't want to waste his strength killing her before killing the last dragon.
  • He froze Bully for trying to protect Tabaluga and Lilli.
  • Sadistically mocked the weakened Tabaluga, freezing his body parts, causing him pain.
  • He sadistically tried to break Tabaluga psychologically by lying to him about Lilli being killed before attempting to freeze him at point blank range with his magic, mockingly gloating that Tabaluga was so similar to Tyrion in that he lost someone he cared about, ultimately sadistically stating that it is quite interesting that a dragon's greatest weakness is its heart.
  • He attempted to Kill the last dragon in order to complete his genocide and bring extinction to all of the dragons.
  • After his defeat, he demands that his men kill Tabaluga only for them to turn against him since they now knew that he lied to them from the beginning, although he tries to deny it.
  • After escaping with Mirmel, Arktos furiously berates the latter, blaming him for his failures, causing Mirmel, having none of it, to kick the shrunk Arktos into the sea.
