Apollyon is the main antagonist and final boss of the story mode of the 2017 video game For Honor. She is the chief warlord of the Blackstone Legion and who intended to break the peace between the Knights of the Iron Legion, the vikings of the Warborn and the samurai of the Chosen.
She is voiced by Catherine Kidd.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- While she has a dark past, with an army raiding her village when she was young, killing most of the people in it, and Apollyon even admitting that she saw death, starvation, and brutality from a young age, that doesn't justify how cruel she became, as she is no longer affected by it and instead chose to take a new identity and hide her past as a peasant girl, wishing instead to focus on creating a massive war with the largest amount of deaths she can to maintain her social darwinistic philosophy and demostrate to the world that her ideals are correct.
- Hired a mercenary to track down the Lawbringer named Dante, after he did so, she ambushed him, brought him to the street then brutally executed him to prove that not even the law should oppress the strong, although he absolutely deserved it.
- Despises the concept of a warrior's virtues, such as duty, kinship and honor due to seeing it as mere excuses for the weak to oppress the strong in her eyes.
- Killed 8 of her competitors in the role as leader of the Blackstone Legion in order to get it herself.
- Desires to create an endless war in order to make the strongest people in it to wipe out the weak.
- After Hervis Daubeny defected from the Blackstone Legion and hid in an Iron Legion fortress on Ashfeld, Apollyon ordered Holden Cross to kill him, which resulted in countless knights getting killed in a battle between the two legions, and had it not been for Daubeny's warden deciding to fight against Cross' second-in-command and winning, the Blackstone Legion would have destroyed the fortress and killed everyone in it.
- She used the Viking attacks in Ashfeld to take over the fortresses of the Iron Legion.
- Despite acting nice towards the Warden and several of her soldiers, even saving the former once from members of the Iron Legion, this is an act of manipulation and only acts like that in order to keep them on her side, since they're some of her strongest warriors and can help her in her goal to create an endless war.
- After having two soldiers of the Iron Legion recruited due to having the courage to try to kill her even at disadvantage, she cut off the heads of the leaders of the surrendered members of the Iron Legion and ordered her soldiers to kill the rest.
- Had no care when she found a Viking that killed 40 of her soldiers, recruiting him due to his strength and usefulness, something which even surprises Holden Cross.
- Attacked a Viking Svengard in order to destroy most of their food, and keeping some of it in order to have the Vikings fight against each other for whatever food was left.
- This act disgusted the Warden due to said action breaking the oath that all the members of the Blackstone Legion swore, that being of always fighting for peace, causing the Warden to leave the Legion.
- This makes her responsible for Ragnar neglecting his kingdom by having feasts while the rest of the Vikings starved.
- She put some Samurai riches in the place that the Vikings were attacking, causing them to decide to attack the Samurai fortresses in order to get more riches, leading to the deaths of hundreds of both Samurai and Vikings alike.
- Took the opportunity of the Vikings attacks on the Samurai and the Emperor's death to force them into replacing the Emperor and when one of them refused to do so, she cut his throat.
- Forced the Samurai into killing each other in order for them to survive from being killed by her and the Blackstone Legion.
- During the battle in Ashford, she killed several soldiers who fought against her, and attempted to do the same to Orochi when he came to kill her.
- In her last moments, she laughed at Orochi's ideas of peace, and told him that he and all the strong members in the three factions were her "wolves".
- Her actions would lead to the creation of the Order of Horkos, due to them believing in Apollyon's ideals of creating an endless war.
- Overall, she is responsible for the creation of a war that affected heavily on five factions that lasted for over 9 years, leading to the deaths of thousands of people.
