The Ao Oni is the main antagonist of the fanfic, One Last Escape, which is based on the RPG game Ao Oni.
It is an enigmatic creature that lives in an abandoned mansion and seeks prey to visitors in the mansion if they ever set foot in the place, with the most recent kills being Hideo, Asuna and Haruo in the beginning of the story, which leads to Satoshi and his friends planning to stop its spree once and for all.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Over the centuries, it has mutilated/ate/killed hundreds of people that ever set foot in his mansion. Although they were trespassers, most of them were curious of what the mansion was. Because of this, rumors about the mansion being haunted were spread across Nagoya.
- Examples of its victims are, Soichiro, who is Satoshi's brother, and his friends a few years prior, Takuro, Ryota and (presumably) Takeshi 18 years prior and recently, Hideo, Asuna and Haruo, which led to the events of the story. Not only this, but he is responsible for the Nakai family being haunted, with Satoshi getting PTSD and nightmares about the day of his brother's disappearance and his mother being overprotective of her remaining son.
- Ambushes Satoshi's gang out of nowhere, so it could eat one of them at least.
- Pursues Satoshi in the library out of bloodthirst.
- He attempts to eat Hiroshi and Kazuya after the two find out about the corpse room.
- Attempts to pry open the jail cell, so it can eat Yoichi, who is on the other side, locking himself in. Because of this, it nearly caused Yoichi to faint in fright. As soon as Yoichi gets out of the cell room, the Oni waits for him to come out and pursues him right away.
- Bites off Hiroshi's left arm and part of his torso in a gruesome way and instead of finishing him off, left him to die slowly in the stairs.
- Hiroshi's death would trigger Kazuya's wrathfulness and his obsession of finishing off the Oni once and for all, although Kazuya did continue to protect Satoshi and his friends.
- Orders Blockman to eat Kana and Ryoba in the Archive Room just for help in catching Satoshi and his friends.
- Attempts to manipulate Kana into turning against Blockman and that it was using her and her friends all this time, although she refused to admit it and the fact that she just befriended Blockman as her "second pet".
- Orders Blockman to finish off Satoshi and his friends and gets more abusive to Blockman while doing so.
- When Blockman has problems trying to kill the gang, the Oni pretends to comfort it, only to brutally bite it in half after 3 strong bites and it eats its upper half after splitting him.
- Its action of splitting Blockman in half caused Kana to break down in tears and had it not been for Satoshi, Kana would've remained saddened for a long period of time.
- Although it's death is brutal as it falls into the spike pits, it is not played for sympathy at all and it deserved it for his gruesome actions.
- While it did seemingly care about Blockman at first, calling him a "good boy" nearby the climax, he sheds this quality once Blockman refuses to kill the gang and he has no problem trying to bite him to death and additionally shows no remorse for it.
- What doesn't help the fact that he cared about Blockman is the fact that he is implied to be abusive to Blockman.
- He easily stands out for being the most vile villain, as he ate or killed hundreds of people alive, as well as having a great amount of personal villainy towards Satoshi, Kana and Kazuya and they have lost someone close to them because of him.
- Unlike the original version, who is a Generic Doomsday Villain and is a kill-the-heroes villainy, the Oni lacks any of these factors and not to mention, he can talk compared to the original version, who is mute.
Trivia[]
- While currently Pure Evil, this could change once a sequel of the story comes out, as the author has some ideas of a sequel.
