The Anti-Monitor is the overarching antagonist of the science-fiction superhero cartoon Green Lantern: The Animated Series. He is an artificial intelligence created by Krona to collect knowledge. However, he betrayed his creator and tried to destroy the universe. He was imprisoned in an alternate reality by the Guardians, though he later escaped to continue his reign of terror.
He was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voices Starscream in Transformers: Animated.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- While he isn't powered by Green Energy like Aya, there's nothing to suggest this limits his sapience in any way.
- He tried to destroy the universe just because he viewed life as inferior.
- After he was imprisoned in an alternate reality, he destroyed it. He even admits to destroying trillions of worlds.
- While he did make a deal to spare the Steam Planet, he did not honor it, as he partially consumed the planet's sun, dooming it to die.
- He took control of the Manhunters and had them murder Chilton.
- He tried to kill Scar.
- He sadistically made Hal Jordan watch him as he tried to kill Hal's team.
- Even though he did want to stop Aya from destroying the universe, it was only for pragmatic reasons.
- It tried to team up with Aya to destroy the universe.
- While it could be argued that getting killed by Aya makes him a scapegoat, it ultimately doesn't since he destroyed entire planets, meaning that his fate was deserved.
