NOTE: This is a composite profile of Anti-Monitor involving his mainstream versions due to the cosmic retcons in the DC Universe.

As always, he proves the incompetent fool for not accepting the inevitable! When I am done, all his universes shall be destroyed... while mine shall rule supreme! Universe after universe has fallen before my power. World after world is absorbed into one. How many worlds do I now control? How many lives are now mine?
~ Anti-Monitor.
My curse. My destiny. My reason. It no longer matters. As you are now the witness, I am the Destroyer.
~ Anti-Monitor.

The Anti-Monitor is one of the main antagonists of the DC Universe.

Hailing from one of the moons of Qward in the Antimatter Universe, the Anti-Monitor is the brother and polar opposite of the Monitor, both created when the universe split into the Multiverse as both the son of Perpetua and a result of the Maltusian scientist Krona tampering with time. Despising everything that wasn't him, the Anti-Monitor sought to destroy the Multiverse one reality at a time by initiating an "entropy wave", a slow-moving wave of antimatter that obliterated every alternate Earth. He is the arch-nemesis of the Monitor, the Justice League, the Green Lantern Corps, and the entire multiverse.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • Rules over the Antimatter Universe with an iron fist, having evil and suffering reign supreme while virtue and good are forbidden.
  • Has destroyed and absorbed numerous positive matter universes which would kill all of those residing in those universes.
  • Draining countless lives in the Anti-Matter, killing all of those he drains.
  • Goes against his brother and more benevolent counterpart, the Monitor, as he is a being who protects the multiverse from danger and opposes the Anti-Monitor's destructive ways and as a result, the Anti-Monitor constantly attempts to kill the Monitor.
  • He shows no care for his henchmen, not caring when they die and gleefully abuses them, sometimes killing them himself.
    • He also keeps them in line using fear and when gaining more henchmen at his service, he also tend to brainwash them to mindlessly obey him, removing their free will to oppose him in any sort of way.
  • Caused more deaths than any other villain the DC universe has encountered.

  • Using Psycho Pirate to crush the minds of countless beings and forcing them to turn on each other so the Anti-Monitor could rule over those beings and their worlds.
  • After being awakened by Pariah, the Anti-Monitor decided to rebuild his army and take over Qward as well as conquer and destroy other worlds as a result.
  • Taking control of one of Harbinger's duplicates and using that duplicate to kill the Monitor.
    • This would result in the Monitor eventually being revived as the first Mandrakk, the Dark Monitor and wishing to consume all of reality.
  • Taking the Flash as his own prisoner out of sheer sadism.
  • Removing Psycho Pirate's face just to display his powers.
  • Bonding all universes together and attempting to wipe out earth, intending to rebuild all of existence in his own twisted image.
  • Successfully destroying the multiverse and all of existence and taking great delight from having done so, though this would be undone later on.
    • The Anti-Monitor's destruction of the multiverse and existence would result in the creation of the Post-Crisis reboot where many events in the Pre-Crisis reality were retconned and many changes occurred in the DC continuity.
  • Having his shadow demons kill some of the heroes who went against him.
  • Brutally killing Supergirl in front of her cousin Superman, grieving him immensely to the point of becoming lethally vengeful towards the Anti-Monitor.
  • Mercilessly forcing Barry Allen to sacrifice himself.
  • Destroying Universe 3's Earth and Krypton out of sheer sadism.
  • Painfully murdered Ultraman.
  • Absorbing the energy of one million worlds in the antimatter universe so he could go back to the beginning of time to stop the creation of the positive matter universe.
    • When the heroes followed him to the beginning of time, the Anti-Monitor fought as well as absorbed the power and energy of the heroes who opposed him, killing some of them as a result of this.
  • Feeding on a nearby star to maintain his power. He later decided to absorb his own antimatter demons and henchmen just so he could become stronger.

  • Intended to destroy Earth again and then planned to permanently destroy all of existence, starting with trying to kill the entirety of the Justice League.
  • When he gains more power and becomes a New God, he wreaks havoc across the multiverse.
  • Although he deserved it, the Anti-Monitor fought and killed Darkseid just so he could maintain his power.
  • After defeating Darkseid, he reverted back into Mobius to kill his enemies more personally and attempted to kill other heroes and destroy all of existence as well, requiring the heroes to defeat him once more.
  • Decided to side with his mother, Perpetua only so he could have a chance of destroying all of existence.
  • Once revived, he continues trying to destroy all of existence and kills those who stand in his way.

  • Trivia[]

    • Due to his goal of destroying the multiverse and all of existence, destroying countless positive matter universes, causing a great amount of destruction in his quest to destroy the multiverse, causing more deaths than any other DC villain which gives him the highest body count out of any DC villain, and causing the DC continuity to be rebooted since he destroyed the DC multiverse, the Anti Monitor is regarded as one of the most dangerous DC Comics villains, if not the most dangerous.
    • The Anti-Monitor is one of the few villains to have heroes such as Superman willing to kill him to end his threat.
    • The Anti-Monitor is actually so powerful and dangerous that other powerful DC villains such as Darkseid and heroes including Superman and Batman are fearful and wary of him.
