Anthony Cooper is a recurring antagonist from the ABC series Lost. He is a sadistic con man and the father of John Locke, who he frequently comes into conflict with.
He was played by Kevin Tighe.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He's a notorious con man who repeatedly had affairs with married women to get their money, abandoning them once he had what he wanted.
- He impregnated Emily Locke, a teenager, then abandoned her, not caring what happened to the child. He maintains a relationship with Emily in later years only because she's useful to him, not because he cares about her.
- He scammed Sawyer's parents out of their money, which resulted in Sawyer's father killing his wife and then himself. This drove Sawyer to become a con man himself and effectively ruined his life.
- He reconnects with his son Locke as part of a con to steal his kidney, abandoning him after the operation.
- He mocks Locke for not getting over the con, coldly telling him he wants nothing more to do with him.
- He uses Locke as a pawn to retrieve a sum of money he stole, which destroys Locke's romantic relationship with Helen.
- He murders Peter Talbot for trying to expose him.
- He tries to kill Locke by pushing him out an eight-story window, paralyzing him.
- On the island, he shows no remorse for his crimes and mocks both Locke and Sawyer for what he did to them, which provokes Sawyer into killing him.
