“ | It stood so damn proud. Just radiating arrogance. I couldn't understand a word it said and yet every syllable dripped with narcissistic venom. It brought a hand to where a mouth should have been... and it laughed and laughed... and then we destroyed ourselves for its amusement. Bones were shattered, flesh and organs ruptured. All for its amusement, we ruined ourselves in body and mind. And the whole time, we screamed and begged yet only silence parted our lips. I'm so sorry, I tried to say, I'm so sorry... their eyes pleaded for mercy and asked for forgiveness. In the end, I was the only one left alive - surrounded by the corpses of my ravaged friends and comrades. I understand now. The Ambassador needed a witness, one to deliver its message. To tell you this... and... | „ |
~ Agent Alexander Papadopoulos on the Ambassador of Alagadda's massacre of his allies. |
The Ambassador of Alagadda is a supporting antagonist in the SCP mythos. It is a powerful reality-warping entity who serves the Hanged King as a mobile agent and servant, although it is implied that it has imprisoned the King and used him to rule the interdimensional Kingdom of Alagadda on its own. It is designated by the Foundation as SCP-701-1, SCP-2264-4 and SCP-2732-2-B.
What Makes It Pure Evil?[]
- According to the tale "Theology of a Snake", it manipulated the formerly human Hanged King, making him do rituals and making him kill his own son with the promise that the king would become a god.
- It later has him hanged to complete his transformation, and while the Hanged King does get transformed, it definitely isn't what he expected.
- As if this wasn't enough, the Ambassador also fully corrupted Alagadda.
- It later has him hanged to complete his transformation, and while the Hanged King does get transformed, it definitely isn't what he expected.
- When the Hanged King's slave the Scarlet Fool (an iteration of the Scarlet King) was framed for stealing Queen Mab's emerald gem, the Ambassador suggested that instead of executing him they have the Fool eat all of the leftover bones from the banquet before the Harvest Masquerade's end, else he would be killed. This caused the Scarlet Fool to experience great misery and humiliation as he was forced to eat all the sharp hard bones which destroyed his teeth and digestive system, all the while the attendants watched on in amusement. This event lead to the Scarlet Fool becoming a vengeful and wrathful god that would spread destruction through his own followers.
- It manipulated the poet Christopher Marlowe into writing SCP-701, a play that when performed causes the participants and audience to go into a homicidal frenzy. Because of it, ten thousands victims were claimed for the last three hundred years, with some survivors having permanent psychosis or coma.
- It manipulated the composer Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa, turning him into a fanatic servant of Alagadda and having him create SCP-6624, a mechanical instrument made out of the remains of deceased singers killed by Gesualdo that, when played, influences those who listen to it both mentally and physically and allows Alagadda's citizens to manifest into reality.
- It allied itself with the Red Lord, the Yellow Lord and the White Lord to exile the Black Lord to "a dreadful dimensional backwater" after the latter discovered that the Ambassador was intentionally leaving the Hanged King in chains and didn't wish to see him rise to power. The Ambassador later watched the carnival parade destroy the Black Lord's original body.
- It exiled four citizens from Alagadda because they played a music that it didn't like (which later caused them to form a rock band and be designated as SCP-5075) and, after discovering that they were still practicing their music, it manifested itself during one of their performances and assaulted them directly before demanding them to cease their activity.
- It sadistically tortured various MTF agents that came to investigate in Alagadda with its psychic powers, except for one, who was forced to look at the Hanged King's face (which drove him insane).
- While it granted Ruprecht Carter, Skitter Marshall, Percival Darke and Iris Dark some rooms within the palace, it was likely out of pragmatic reasons since they had made themselves useful by bringing the deceased SCP-096's skull, who the Hanged King revived into a servant of his.
- During SCP-6500 (an event neutralizing all the anomalies), it taunted Delfina Ibanez from the darkness, forcing her to relive the moment of her sister's death, and made her group think it was part of them, showing them the dark knowledge. When Ibanez realized that the Ambassador wasn't part of the group, it attacked her and later tried to get revenge on her after being seemingly killed.
