Alva (also known as Jarvis in the original Japanese version) is the main antagonist of the 19th Pokémon film Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.
He is the corrupt chancellor of the Azoth Kingdom, who wishes to rule the kingdom by any means necessary. To do so, Alva decides to use Magearna's Soul-Heart to power his flying fortress.
He was voiced by Kōichi Yamadera in the Japanese version and by Billy Bob Thompson in the English version.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Devising a technique known as the "Mega Wave", which is shown to forcefully and painfully trap Pokemon in their Mega Evolved forms.
- Manipulates Prince Raleigh into thinking what he was doing was right.
- Has his henchmen torture and threaten to kill Ash and his friends' Pokémon if Magearna doesn't surrender.
- Kidnaps Meowth and forces him to listen to Magearna's agonized screams, as well as making him watch as he attempts to murder Jessie and James.
- Uses Magearna's Soul-Heart to power his flying fortress and forcing it to ravage the Nebel Plateau while it watches, unable to do anything due to Alva having ordered his Gengar to shut down any emotion inside Magearna with its "Hypnosis" attack.
- Sets the flying fortress on a collision course with the Nebel Plateau, hoping to kill everyone living there while he makes his escape on a jetpack, which leads to Volcanion nearly sacrificing his life by blowing up the fortress in order to save everyone.
- He has no tragic backstory, comedic moments, redeeming qualities or Freudian Excuse for his actions, as he simply does them to satisfy his sheer lust for power.
