| “ | Let me tell you what I want. I want the mongrels to stop feeding on the hard work and good faith of the rest of us. You have a cancer, you cut it out. And make no mistake, these people are tumors. They will drag us down with them and they will kill us. They've no sense of right and wrong, of good and evil. And I do. You sleep safer at night because of me. And you don't even know it. | „ |
| ~ Rausch preaching his racist gospel |
Alexander Nathaniel Rausch is the main antagonist of the Law & Order/Homicide: Life on the Street crossover episode "Charm City"/"For God and Country". He is a former intelligence officer, and the leader of a neo-Nazi terrorist group who bombs a Black church, killing dozens of people, as part of his plan to instigate an apocalyptic race war.
He was portrayed by J.K. Simmons.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He is the leader of a white supremacist gang, and as such, regularly commits violent crimes against people who do not fit his "Aryan" ideal.
- Uses the skills with explosives and poisons that he learned in the military against the very government that paid to train him, betraying both his fellow soldiers and his country.
- He spreads racist and anti-Semitic propaganda.
- Indoctrinates at least two people into committing acts of terrorism for him.
- Plots to instigate a race war that would destroy American government and society and replace it with a white supremacist ethnostate.
- Orders an underling to gas a car, killing the underling and two state troopers.
- Manipulates Brian Egan into setting off a silver arsenic gas bomb in a New York subway, killing 20 Black people and injuring possibly hundreds of people
- Several years earlier, Rausch had ordered Egan to bomb a church in Baltimore, which killed six Black people and injured several others.
- Murders Egan's wife by injecting chloroquine phosphate down her throat, and tries to kill his son.
- Hypocritically declares himself a ''patriot'' after he is arrested.
- While he does die, he could be argued as a Karma Houdini as Brian is charged and executed but Alexander simply dies from a heart attack, giving him an easy, less terrifying death.
- He is easily one of the most heinous villains out of the entire Law & Order Universe roster, being the only villain that attempts to start a war.
Trivia[]
- He is the first Law & Order Universe villain to be Pure Evil.
