Alan Sylvasta is the main antagonist in the 2020 original anime series, BNA: Brand New Animal. Alan is the CEO of Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals and is said to be working on a "cure" to make all Beastmen become human in order to prevent the Nirvasyl Syndrome, in actuality, it was the other way around. Alan is revealed to be a Beastman himself, a pure-blooded one, and the descendant of Raymond Sylvasta, as he plans to eradicate all Beastmen into humans just so he could rule over them as a god.

He is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa in the Japanese version and Robbie Daymond in the English version.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • While he was first seen as a genuine extremist who means well and wants what is best for Anima-City despite going against what it stands for. As the series furthered near the end, Alan's intentions were out of ill-intended egotism as they are nothing more than a mere racist plan to have all the Beastmen turned to humans just so he could rule over them due to his hatred for them being "half-breed".
  • He had Nazuna Hiwatashi portrayed as the Silver Wolf and lead a cult called the Silver Wolf Order under the alias of Deusse Louve, all in order to have Anima-City gain their trust for her. Manipulating her to be the trigger that would kick start his plans.
  • He had Boris infect Yaba with a drugged serum that caused him to go through Nirvasyl Syndrome. As a result, Yaba's rampage led to multiple deaths of police officers and prisoners inside the building.
  • He experimented on the corpse of a mutated Yaba to finish making the "cure" in time.
  • He had the Prime Minister of Japan, Shiramizu, take Mayor Barbara Rose as a hostage in order to prevent any interference with his plans.
  • Had his Engel Maschines attack a mutated horse Beastman going through Nirvasyl Syndrome in order to have it experimented on.
  • Tranquilized Shirou Ogami when he objected to his ideals on "curing" the beastmen while wearing his facade to justify his actions.
  • He staged a concert for Nazuna's performance in order to have her confess her secret of being a human, which would trigger the Nirvasyl Syndrome.
  • When Nazuna failed to deliver the confession thanks to Michiru, he had Boris outright confess and incite all the Beastmen, at the concert and broadcast live, into thinking Nazuna deceived them and humans were their enemies. Therefore it caused hundreds of them to go through Nirvasyl Syndrome as a result and attacked one another.
  • He had his Engel Maschines attack and "cure" all the mutated Beastmen into humans against their wills in the attempt, the same goes with other Beastmen who weren't going through Nirvasyl Syndrome without their consent while the syndrome spread further as it led the whole city into total chaos.
  • When confronted by Michiru and Shirou, he sadistically taunted and fought them about his plans going further accordingly as he had hundreds of his Engel Maschines to "cure" all the Beastmen across the city.
  • After he revealed that he was a Beastman to Shirou, he overwhelmed and blasted him powerfully as a "punishment" for interfering with his plans.
  • He attempted to have Michiru "cured" against her will when he had his Engel Maschines aimed directly right at her.
  • In the final battle, he attempted to kill Shirou in their Ginrou forms as he ranted that he isn't "pure-blooded".
  • After being spared, it's possible that Alan refused to change his ways and went off to hiding after he resigned from his position as CEO of Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals. Foreshadowing a possibility that he'll have revenge someday.
  • He manages to be equally heinous alongside his ancestor, Raymond Sylvasta, where the latter committed actual genocide against Beastmen thousands of years ago. Although Alan's plans share similarities with Raymond's, Raymond's genocide involved murdering them with low resources from the past compared to Alan's resources being high and futuristic as his genocide was a cultural one and utmost unique as he tried having the beastmen turned to humans without their consent.
  • Despite promising to cure Michiru and Nazuna, it's nothing more than a mere facade to gain their trust as he was willing to have Michiru forced into becoming human again once she chose to remain a Beastman and took sadistic joy in manipulating Nazuna.
