~ Akuro |
Akuro is the overarching antagonist of the Ōkami video game series.
He is a spirit of darkness and the true lord of darkness in Nippon, having partnered with Orochi and Yami in order to shroud the land in darkness. After Yami is killed Amaterasu, Akuro is weakened greatly, with his spirit being split into multiple pieces that spread out across Nippon, searching for a new host that will enable him to return to his full power and rule the land once again.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He partnered with Yami in order to take over Nippon, and also served as the power behind Orochi as well.
- Alongside Yami, when the Celestials fled onto the Ark of Yamato to avoid Orochi, Akuro committed a mass genocide against them. This left the Celestial Plane empty, as the Celestials were all dead and the Celestial Brush Gods went into hiding, meaning the heavenly plane no longer watched over and protected Nippon from demonic forces.
- Following the death of Yami at the hands of Amaterasu, Akuro's spirit is split into several pieces and attaches itself to powerful demons across Nippon, using them to try and regain his demonic power.
- He desicrates the corpse of Sugawara, possessing him and transforming him into the demonic King Fury to try and kill Chibiterasu.
- Upon King Fury's defeat, Akuro travels back in time to the death of Orochi so that he can bathe in the demonic serpent's blood and regain his dark magic. During his escapade through time, Akuro uses his magic to try and kill Chibiterasu, who is saved by their mother Amaterasu, killing her in the process.
- With his demonic powers restored, Akuro captures Kuni, a child who is close friends with Chibiterasu, and possesses him as he is considered a perfect vessel for Akuro.
- After being expelled from Kuni, he is only able to be defeated by Kurow acting as his vessel, and then asking Chibiterasu to kill him so that both Kurow and Akuro will die. While this is successful, Kurow is a child, and he has to be murdered in order to finally put an end to the dark spirit.
