| ~ Colonel Allende to John Marston. |
Colonel Agustin Allende is a major antagonist of the 2010 action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption, serving as the main antagonist of the Nuevo Paraiso chapter.
Allende is a Mexican army official who rules over Nuevo Paraiso and abuses his power to invade villages and kidnap women for his own sexual pleasure. He initially greets John Marston with a nice warm reception just when John entered Mexico saying that he had been sent to track down Bill Williamson and Javier Escuella. Allende has John do a few jobs for him in order to earn his trust. Unbeknownst to John, Allende was hiding Bill and Javier all along.
He is voiced by Gary Carlos Cervantes.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Although he was born in poor family, where he lived in poverty, it doesn’t make him tragic or sympathetic, because becoming an adult, he became violent tyrant, who ruins lives of other poor people, who had no relation with his past.
- Although he was once a proud idealist who wanted to bring change to Mexico, overtime he became a violent cynic with a love of physical abuse, including torture and sexual assault.
- While he has a photography with General Ignacio Sanchez, even if it is a propagandistic poster and he was once connected with him, there are no signs that he cares or somehow respects him.
- He is a corrupt and brutal dictator serving as the colonel of Mexican Army, who not only suppressed any uprisings, but also starved and impoverished the citizens of Nuevo Paraiso territory.
- He takes advantage from John Marston's skills in exchange of false pretenses about delivering Bill Williamson and Javier Escuella to him, sending him to go on numerous missions with Captain Vincente de Santa and Captain Espinoza to massacre the rebels which are led by Abraham Reyes.
- He also orders his soldiers to capture numerous Mexican women for his own personal pleasure, making him the responsible of lots of women getting raped by him and his soldiers.
- After using him for a while, he eventually betrays John by claiming he has captured Escuella and Williamson and that they were being held in a church ready for Marston, which is actually revealed to be a conspiracy to capture him and execute, ordering De Santa to kill him after they arrived at the church, only to be interrupted by Abraham Reyes.
- He has Luisa's father's heart ripped out of his body and fed to his dogs, and after that, raped two women.
- Upon his betrayal, it is revealed that Allende was working with Escuella and Williamson for the whole time, using them as hitmen and providing them high protection with his army.
- He doesn’t show any concern, when both of his captains, Espinoza and Vincente de Santa, but also other mexican soldiers were killed by John, Abraham and his rebels. He even openly scolds De Santa if he can’t do something, despite this fact that Allende never participates in shootouts with Reyes’s rebels, showing his hypocrisy and ungrateful nature.
- He orders his army to attack Escalera and execute the citizens around, along with Abraham Reyes, whose execution is interrupted by John Marston.
- He indirectly responsible for Luisa’s death, because he ordered his soldiers to attack Escalera and capture Abraham, but Luisa, trying to save him, dies at the hands of Allende’s soldier, Raul Zubieta.
- Overall, he indirectly responsible for his soldiers death, because he often sends them to dangerous missions, which lead to their death.
- He attempts to escape once his army is wiped out by the rebels, and when he is unable to escape, he gives up Williamson to Marston in an attempt of saving his own life with a futile effort.
- No matter what his death will be from hands of John/Abraham, but in the end he deserved it for those atrocities, which he committed.
- Despite this fact that franchise has incredible high Heinous Standards, Allende easily passes it, doing the worst with residents of Nuevo Paraiso, while having a low screen time.
Trivia[]
