Adrian is the main antagonist of the Inside No. 9 episode "To Have and To Hold".

He was portrayed by Steve Pemberton.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

• After discovering that his wife Harriet had an affair with a co-worker, he decided to get his own back by kidnapping their cleaner Agnes, chaining her up in the basement and keeping her as a sex slave, raping her every day for nine years until the events of the episode.
• When Levi, Adrian's son by Agnes, was born, he chained him up in the basement as well to avoid being caught.
• He continued raping Agnes even when Levi was chained up in the same room, meaning Levi spent the first five or six years of his life watching Adrian rape his mother every day.
• He only feeds Levi and Agnes pot noodles, depriving them of full nourishment.
• He is emotionally abusive towards Harriet, deliberately remaining distant from her and constantly trying to guilt-trip her over her affair to make her think it's her fault their marriage is decaying.
• Though he tried to get out of going on holiday since Agnes and Levi would starve to death if he was not there to feed them, this was not out of goodness. It was a pragmatic choice to keep his wife or anyone from discovering what he had done.
