Men have enslaved each other since they invented gods to forgive them for doing it.
~ Adam about slavery.

Adam is the main antagonist of the 2012 action horror film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He is the leader of the vampire clan owning the slavery, and is the archenemy of Abraham Lincoln and Henry Sturges.

He was portrayed by Rufus Sewell.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • In Egypt around 1643 and 1213 BC, he enslaved Jews into building cities.
  • Around 250 AD, he watched the Christians being fed to the lions by the lions at the Roman Colosseum.
  • Sometime after the late 15th century, he and the other vampires arrived to America and slaughtered many Native Americans before the Caucasian humans who were also killed by the vampires. But seeing the Caucasians arriving with their slaves from Africa, Adam and the other vampires took opportunity in assisting the white humans in enslaving black ones.
  • After he bit and turned Henry Sturges into a vampire, Adam proceeded to kill Henry's wife.
  • Sometime before the American Civil War, Adam and his clan used to enslave African-American humans by using them as their property and subjecting them to unfair labor like the white humans did.
  • After finding out Lincoln killed many vampires by becoming a vampire hunter, Adam attempted to have Lincoln captured, but he failed.
  • After the crimes of the slavers are revealed and that Lincoln started the political career against the slavery, Adam sent his sister Vadoma into assassinating Lincoln's son Willie.
  • While Adam sent the other vampires at the train to destroy it while it is in route to the Union, Adam found out the train actually carried rocks, not the silver as told by Speed. Enraged, he killed Speed.
  • There is no indication he cared about Vadoma and their own kind. Even by claiming his well-intentioned extremism, it was actually a disguised hypocrisy as he saw humanity as a heartless, selfish and inferior kind.
