You know, I'm not quite the kind of mercenary that you're familiar with. To put it simply, I'm more like a hitman. To be precise, the ultimate hitman! Ace Killer!
~ Ace Killer's introduction to Shinjiro and Moboroshi.
Nobody has ever defeated me!
~ Ace Killer's last words before his demise by Shinjiro.

Ace Killer is a major antagonist in the 2019 Netflix anime series, ULTRAMAN, based on the original 2011 manga series. He serves as the main antagonist in the first season, first appeared in the two-part season finale. He is a mercenary that was hired to assassinate a research team years ago and is the leader of his squadron known as the Ace Killer Squad.

He is the personal archenemy of Seiji Hokuto, which the mercenary is responsible for the deaths of his parents, as well as Yuko Minami's, who was a childhood friend of his.

He was voiced in Japanese by Hiroaki Hirata and by Ray Chase (who also voiced Fyodor Dostoyevsky in Bungo Stray Dogs and Gabriel in Malignant) in the English dub.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Given his status as a mercenary, it is assumed that he and his men had done a number of assassinations in the past.
  • Upon accepting the task to assassinate the research team of the Cluster Star Alliance, he bombed a plane that carried over 247 passengers, one of them being the Hokuto family and Yuko's parents caught in the wildfire, killing them instantly. However, one of the members survived alongside Seiji and Yuko.
    • Because of this act, it left Seiji handicapped with no limbs and replaced with metallic ones. Ace Killer is also the reason for Seiji's vengeful agenda as he is the one responsible for his parents' deaths.
  • He and his men bombed an oil factory within the seas upon looking for Seiji and Yuko, finishing what he started since his last assassination. His bombing of the factory might have possibly killed some workers there if that were true.
  • When SSSP raided their hideout, Ace Killer had set a bomb on the place that killed dozens of SSSP soldiers out of spite.
  • He had Shinjiro and Moroboshi tortured through Nepenthes, then personally stomped on Shinjiro's heart while blasting him multiple times, knowing this would provoke Seiji into coming out and fighting him.
  • Brutalized and beaten Seiji to a pulp before aiming his gun at him, saying that he'll kill Yuko immediately after this and mocked Seiji's actions for his friend's happiness as "useless".
  • As he got his arm mutilated, he begrudgingly used his teleportation to cut off Seiji's finger and stab him right through the heart, even intending to rip off his skull to keep as a "trophy" for his own sadistic pride.
  • Once he was killed by Shinjiro's Specium Ray, he used his hatchet to activate his ship into dropping a large bomb onto the earth, which could've risked killing billions in case he lost.
  • His actions make him stand out as one of the most personal villains in the series given what he's done to Seiji in the past. Even though his worst act was demanded by his clients, he takes great pleasure and sadism in committing his assassinations just for the pay and for his own amusement.
  • He has no care for his men, even Nepenthes, when they died and only saw them as pawns in his arsenal.

Trivia[]

  • Ace Killer, alongside Alien Adacic and Alien Pedan, are the only three ULTRAMAN Pure Evils.
