~ The Absolute Solver before killing Tessa to use her body as a skin suit.
I missed you, N. You know, you're one of the main reasons I wanted your team to retain your personalities. You always surprised me. Loved doing anything.
~ The Absolute Solver speaking with N.
It's been fun. And, also, that's sarcasm. Honestly, I'm starving.
~ The Absolute Solver after defeating N and Uzi.

The Absolute Solver, also known by its primary host Cyn, is the main antagonist of the 2021-2024 animated webseries Murder Drones.

It is an eldritch entity of unknown origins, which has a goal of wiping out everything across the universe, having used Worker Drones as hosts and turning several of them into Disassembly Drones in order to help it in its goals. It is the archenemy of Uzi Doorman.

The Solver is mainly voiced by Allanah Fitzgerald. As Tessa, it is voiced by Daisy Rose.

What Makes It Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • Though it has many comedic moments, such as constantly speaking in onomatopoeias, having numerous weird-sounding, quirky lines, and overall being incredibly over-the-top and dramatic, especially when posing as Tessa, it is still constantly shown to be a threat that is taken completely seriously in-universe by the characters as something to fear.
    • Its actions and dramatic behavior are always played for horror, being a dreaded menace who changed the level of danger the protagonists face, making it clear that it is the biggest threat in the series every time it appears or things about it are revealed (especially after it is revealed to have already destroyed Earth). Also, while its demeanor may be quirky, it is also eerily calm and tense.
  • It has a constant psychological hold over V, forcing her to maintain a sadistic and apathetic front around anyone, even N, for no reason whatsoever. Whenever the subject of the Solver is even mentioned around her, it's enough to send her into a dire panic.
  • While it does state that it was fixing J as its host per its directive, this is just a throwaway line, which is then pushed away by the Solver saying that it is not a program, but the drones are just its "cute puppets".
    • It also may appear insane, but it's shown that despite that, it is able to easily manipulate others and acknowledges itself as a monster, showing it knows right from wrong.
  • Although it showed affection towards N, calling him "big brother" and kept his personality even after turning him into a Disassembly Drone because it found it intriguing, it is shown this affection is an incredibly twisted and toxic obsession, and the Solver was willing to try to kill N on multiple occasions, even showing sadistic glee at trying to devour his core.
  • It's responsible for every death and bad event directly or indirectly in the entire series, being responsible for the creation of the Disassembly Drones, destroying Copper 9's core, leading to Alice's downward spiral to insanity, sending the Disassembly Drones to Copper 9, and the overall cause of the extinction of humanity, setting the Heinous Standards of the series.
  • It's unclear when exactly the Solver became a sadistic and obsessive mass murderer. However, it doesn't seem to have been motivated by any reasons related to its treatment in the Elliott mansion, as it barely is shown being affected by any of the ways the Elliotts mistreated it as Cyn, given how it never mentions it, shows mere annoyance at best to how others acted around it, such as J, and is primarily motivated by a desire of control of the drones, thrills and sadism than any possible abuse from the Elliotts.

Background[]

  • After taking Cyn as a host and getting into the Elliott mansion, it would experiment on the Worker Drones there, ripping them apart and rebuilding them to turn them into weapons for its goals.
  • Even though it was the cause of N getting chained up to a tree to be eaten by crows by Louisa, it was apathetic about what had happened and what N was going through when told by Tessa, simply stating that it had backups.
  • It slaughtered everyone who attended the Elliotts' gala at their mansion.
    • While the Elliotts themselves were awful people who abused and mistreated both the drones and their own daughter, those who attended the gala, as far as we know, were completely innocent.
  • Even though it promised to spare Tessa if she didn't discard her "pets" and told her she didn't have to witness the massacre of the gala after walking in on it killing everyone, it still killed Tessa regardless, using her body as means to further manipulate the Disassembly Drones.
    • When Tessa's fate is revealed to N and Uzi, it had no remorse for anything it did to the poor girl and instead expressed sadistic glee over tricking them.
  • It turned all the Worker Drones at the gala into its Disassembly Drones and forced them to exterminate all life on Earth before destroying the planets core, wiping out most of the human race.
  • It forced V to distance herself from N and aid its plans for universal destruction, threatening to kill the both of them if she didn't comply.
  • It launched an attack on the remaining humans on various exo planets once it realized they were plotting against it, killing those in the Proxima System and the Plat-Binary System before going to Copper 9.
  • It possessed Nori and killed every JCJenson scientist in the labs with the exception of one man named Mitchell, who it attempted to trick before trying to kill him as well.
  • After Yeva was able to use the crucifix patch on Nori, the Solver took control of her right hand and tried to create a black hole to wipe them all out, which led to Yeva cutting it off and throwing it into a hole that lead to the planet's core, blowing it up and causing all the humans in Copper 9 to freeze to death, thus exterminating the entirety of humanity like it set out to accomplish.
  • It sent the Disassembly Drones to Copper 9 to wipe out all the Worker Drones there in an attempt to stop any possible attempt at a rebellion. Some of its kills included that of Yeva and her husband, leading to their daughter, Doll, becoming a serial killer to get revenge on the Disassembly Drones for killing her parents.
    • The Disassembly Drones also hit Nori with nanite acid, leading to her body getting destroyed and leaving her with nothing but her core, forcing Khan to supposedly put his wife out of his misery. This also makes the Solver indirectly responsible for him becoming rather neglectful and distant towards their daughter, Uzi, in the long run.
  • It removed N's memories of his past and everything that happened to Earth, practically lobotomizing him, for the sake of keeping him under its thumb, making him believe that everything he was doing was for the sake of JCJenson.

Murder Drones[]

  • After J was killed by Uzi, it would take over the remains of her body and kill multiple drones to try to repair her and use her as a host.
  • While fighting Uzi, it made multiple holograms and tricked her repeatedly to taunt her, such as showing Uzi a hologram of her mother and her as a baby, before making it seem like it ripped Khan in half and devoured him in front of her.
  • After taking control of Uzi, it killed and devoured multiple of her classmates, attempting to do the same with V and Lizzy.
    • This is even worse when taking into consideration that Uzi was completely aware of this, even puking up one of her classmates' organs at one point.
  • It made a deal with Doll to get the keybug that would lead it to the underground labs in an attempt to wipe out all the information about any kind of way it could be defeated under the promise of helping her and Uzi get rid of her Solver abilities. That being said, it had no intent on keeping its end of the deal, even attempting to shoot her after getting the keybug, claiming it was a "test" to see if her powers worked after avoiding the bullet.
  • It hacked into N and V's memories of their past in an attempt to brainwash them again, even forcing V watch helplessly as it tried to break apart N's head to get inside his mind.
  • While posing as Tessa, it tried to manipulate N into killing Uzi for the sake of the universe's survival, insisting that there was no other way to stop the Solver from controlling her.
    • Even during its masquerade of the girl, it expressed certain moments of apathy, such as being flippant over the possibility of V and Uzi being killed by the Sentinels when they were all separated by Alice.
  • It revealed N's past to him, along with his complicity over the destruction of Earth and all its life, before trying to mold him back into being obedient again.
  • It killed Doll by devouring her chest cavity and her core.
  • It tried to kill Uzi before being stopped by N, who demanded to know what the crucifix pax really does and, therefore, if killing Uzi was really the only way to stop the Solver. Rather than answering, "Tessa" taunts N by asking if he knew why she kept him around, resulting in the latter decapitating her.
  • It fully took control of Uzi's body and tried to kill N and Nori when the latter arrived to help. Throughout the fight, it repeatedly used N's love and affection for Uzi to its advantage, knowing he wouldn't kill her. At one point, it even pressed his blade into her neck just to torment him.
  • After incapacitating N, the Solver attempted to devour Nori. What makes this worse is that it was using her daughter's own body to do it.
  • After revealing to have been Tessa all along, the Solver announces its plan to devour everyone in Copper 9 before merging with the planet's core and starts ripping it apart.
  • Tore out Uzi's core and when N tried to protect her, it started brutally maiming him, ripping him apart while he was still alive and screaming in pain, even tearing his head off.
  • Chased after N and Uzi with the intent to kill them.
    • During this, N had a PTSD induced panic attack, reliving what the Solver did to him and V during its massacre at the mansion.
  • It tried to manipulate V into a trap by posing as N. When the real N gave himself away to warn her, the Solver ripped his core from his body and sadistically told V she failed her "job" before going after her.
  • Sadistically attempted to eat N's core in front of V, which would have permanently killed him had Khan not saved him with his doors.
  • During its fight with Uzi, it holographically disguised itself as N when she struck a blow to emotionally damage her, leaving her vulnerable for J to attack.
    • On that note, it accidentally decapitates J when Uzi uses her as a human shield and doesn't express any remorse, showing that in spite of J's undying loyalty, it doesn't care about her.
  • It's implied that after its defeat and merging with Uzi, the Solver is now beginning to mold every aspect of her life, such as telling her to wear a bow similar to that of Cyn and Tessa's. As a result, Uzi is left with severe anxiety and PTSD, as shown during a presentation where she includes with words like "I AM NOT SOLVED" and a drawing of her crying.

Trivia[]

  • Due to the ambiguous end of the show and its character, several people began to believe that the Solver had grown to have fondness of Uzi and began to mellow out, as it tells Uzi that her appearance looked great. However, there are implications, such as suggesting to Uzi to use a bow similar to its previous hosts, that it is trying to make Uzi into a new one. Because of the limited time and scenes of the Solver post-defeat, it's not certain what are its intentions, although if it ever ends up being revealed that the Solver was beginning to change for the better, it would remove it of its Pure Evil status.
  • The Absolute Solver is likely inspired by AM, Ultron and Skynet due to to it having similar motives.
