Abalone Cookie is a posthumous minor antagonist in Cookie Run: Kingdom.
He was the greedy captain of the Abalone Ship, who initially partnered with Oyster Cookie's ancestor Lord Oyster to search for legendary treasures. Through manipulating Lord Oyster and starting a violent raid on Tearcrown, his actions traumatized the Gem Mermaid White Pearl Cookie into becoming the vengeful Black Pearl Cookie, who sank him along with his ships and legacy.
He was voiced by Yun Yong-sik in Korean, Shohei Tabuchi in Japanese and Austen Moret in English.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Though Custard Cookie and the Cookies of Darkness have done worse, they have more resources than him as he only has a ship and his fleet, and he passes the heinous standard with his violent raid on Tearcrown endangering hundreds of merfolk, attempted capture of White Pearl Cookie and the theft of her pearl, which were explicitly implied to be among the factors behind her transformation into Black Pearl Cookie, leading to her misanthropic hatred for the land Cookies playing a role in her downfall.
- Being the leader of his crew, he is accountable for a pair of destructive raids on the underwater city of Tearcrown, planning to capture the mermaid inhabitants for the treasures and profit they hold, including their gems/tears, leading to the injuries of hundreds of innocent merfolk and destruction of several establishments there.
- He orchestrated the attacks on Tearcrown upon hearing that the legends about the mermaids’ valuable treasures were true, the first one during the lunar eclipse knowing that the Gem Mermaids’ powers would be weakened, and the second one by intentionally blocking out the moonlight from reaching the sea.
- In the end, he was all but responsible for the fall of Tearcrown, as his actions also caused the creation of the Tower of Frozen Waves near the site it once stood from White Pearl Cookie absorbing the Sea Fairy Tear, leading to Tearcrown’s complete destruction where its ruins now form the Duskgloom Sea in the present day.
- Not even children were actually safe during the attack, as one young mermaid got their fins snagged by one of Abalone Cookie’s men during their second attack.
- Looks down on the mermaids and Tearcrown inhabitants, referring to them with “it/its” pronouns, as well as his crew, being stated to consider them expendable.
- While he initially partnered with Lord Oyster to search for valuable treasures and help his family estate as House Oyster at that time was not as prestigious as it was in the present, he ultimately only wanted to use him to benefit his own goals and get the riches for himself.
- Ashamed at Lord Oyster disobeying him by letting White Pearl Cookie escape (even though he had to in order to save their lives), he threw him and the members of his house off his ship after the former set White Pearl Cookie free, leaving them to die in the maelstrom while intending to keep White Pearl on the ship after the Gem Mermaids attacked it to rescue White Pearl and escape with the treasures he had.
- Throughout the storyline, Abalone’s crew members begin to question every move he makes for the benefit of himself, showing how much he doesn’t care about their safety, up until their deaths in the hands of Black Pearl Cookie.
- Holds White Pearl Cookie who was accidentally caught on the ship to press her for information about the sea's treasures. This would lead him to capturing the mermaids for himself as he would find out that the gems they possess could give them a huge source of income.
- Extorted Lord Oyster into giving him White Pearl Cookie's pearl with a pair of false promises that he could buy the pearl back once he is done fulfilling his purpose and connect them to the Crab Family as VIPs, only to betray him and take the pearl for himself.
- Recaptures a weakened White Pearl Cookie and boasted to her that he had taken the pearl that she gave to Lord Oyster due to his “lack of a spine,” breaking her trust with him and attempted to pursue her himself after she escaped after she captured the rest of her sisters.
- He proved to be so dangerous that White Pearl Cookie had to absorb the Sea Fairy Tears in order to stop him, becoming Black Pearl Cookie. In doing so, Abalone Cookie's actions traumatized her into becoming a misanthropic, vengeful sea monster with a hatred towards all land Cookies. His hand in Lord Oyster's betrayal still affected Black Pearl Cookie even in the present day, with her sinking hundreds of ships due to them reminding her of him.
- While Abalone Cookie isn’t aware of his actions leading to the rise of Black Pearl Cookie, only trying to run away out of cowardice and fear for his life upon spotting her, his attempts at capturing the mermaid for himself were a contributing factor to her absorbing the Sea Fairy Tear.
- Held no remorse for any of his actions when Black Pearl Cookie destroyed his fleet along with him and his crew, only lamenting for all of the valuable treasures that he lost.
