Watch the first minute, and you will get your answer. He always planned the emperor to be pure evil, so I think the article is false.
@Erdan5 Yeah, probably the person who wrote it was mistaken, as Lucas never said he was a well-intentioned extremeist; he could be delusional, but most definitely pure evil, even if you include word of God.
@Erdan5 Definitely not a well-intentioned extremist. Everything about Palpatine is about him having more power and being an evil sadist.

I chose the guy who fights Batman. And outsmarts him most of the time.
Satan has the most PE incarnations. And Count Dracula if all his PE versions get proposed.
Light Yagami, Patrick Bateman, and Albert Wesker They are definitely in the top 5 for me. and Cell form Dragon Ball Z is also one of my favorites.
@Yoshikage1234 Yeah, but in the end, I think he did say that he is pure evil, as he reflects an organization that is pure evil in nature. Him being tragic is definitely not true, as he had the choice of changing his life but didn't go through with it. He does mention it in the video, but I think what he means is that he is a victim of circumstances, as he wouldn’t be as evil if he had grown up in a different place, but the argument doesn't make a lot of sense. As that argument could be used against everyone who is evil or anyone who is good, they are all victims of circumstances. It is possible he would be tragic if he reflected on his actions when he grew up and was in full control over his choices, but he doesn't do that and even becomes more evil and betrays the people that raised him, even if they are bad, but it does show you that he doesn't care about anyone except himself and his ambitions. The Vile Eye didn't try to justify his actions or make him into a tragic character. I think he just points out a what-if scenario that wouldn't work or justify him, as I explained.

@Yoshikage1234 It's definitely about him being confident and taking good care of himself, but there are some who take it to another level by adopting his toxic traits. But i don’t think they are that serious about being exactly like him.
Him after being on this wiki.
